  1. At the suggestion of a fellow sleever (thanks DeezJeans) I'm starting a post-op success story thread. This can be a 'numbers' thread...when you do your weigh in's, you can post your pounds lost here, and we can keep a running total. We can use this thread JUST for pounds lost! Looking forward to the thousands of pounds we WILL be losing! Here's what we would like to do. Please send me a private message with your goal pounds lost. (Meaning, if your goal is to lose 150 pounds, just jot that down in a quick private message and send that to me.) Then we will compile all the pounds from everyone who wants to participate, and post the full amount, and then work towards those goals with weekly updates. We will be recording those pounds lost AFTER surgery! You will still post your pounds lost on this forum here so we can Celebrate all of your victories (and I will keep track of them on my trusty spreadsheet, and then report the weekly pounds lost) If you have any questions, please let me know!

    quest nutrition

I had emailed Quest to see if I could get a sample of the chips. They said that because it was new, they didn't offer samples. I was very interested to see how they would taste, but won't buy them/pay for shipping without having tried them first. Which flavor did you get? Here are the ingredients (for Mrs. RRn) Protein Blend (Milk Protein Isolate, whey Protein Isolate), Dried Potatoes, Corn Starch, High Oleic Sunflower Oil. Contains less than 2% of the following: Sea Salt, Calcium Carbonate, Natural Flavors. I have been eating Quest bars for probably 6 months, and love them, although I was just introduced to the Victory bar, and although they don't have quite the texture as the Quest bar, I really like them as well, and am getting them now.

Mooncat, I am a bit confused by your numbers. TPL from your HW is 136. TPL from your SW is 121. I wanted to make sure your CW was accurate, because I couldn't calculate a TPL number of 73, and want to make sure I get you down for your total weight loss!

One of the 'concerns' my surgeons office talked about was grazing...they strongly, STRONGLY advise against it. I was told that it should be 3 meals and maybe 2 snacks. I usually do the three meals and one snack, and get in between 700-800 calories and have upped the protein to at least 80g. I think you run the risk of overheating if you are just grazing throughout the day...so in my opinion, I would definitely caution against it.

No apologies necessary Nurse_B...you just posted 2 days ago I know what you mean about the exercise! I was SO happy to finally get back in the pool last weekend, and got to swim one day and then BAM got horribly sick all week long...add a weight loss stall in there, and that's enough to get a person down in the dumps! I'm finally feeling a little bit better today, and am hoping, hoping, hoping to get back in the pool tomorrow! Have a great day!

    Shrimp?

Shrimp has been one of the best things for my sleeve...absolutely no problems...and the best part is how few calories it is for so much protein. I keep it in the house pretty much all the time now!

    Calling all sushi lovers!

I am almost 8 weeks post-op and had sashimi about 5 weeks out. I just went slow and didn't overdo it and it was probably one of the best meals I have had. I am not probably going to do sushi, just because I am going to stay away from rice from now on, but sashimi is such a wonderful alternative for me.
