Don't have to do much for approval?

Recommended Posts

All I had to do was get a waiver from my pcp, who didn't require anything from me, get my medical records from the last 2 years and a psych eval. I see other people getting endoscopy and other things. It's odd to me that this is all I need? My psych eval is Tuesday and then were submitting to Insurance. I'm scared they will come back at me with "Oh we forgot u need this and this and this." did anyone else not have to do much? My only comorbidity is high cholesterol.

Everyone's insurance is different. Did you actually speak to someone and get the exact requirements? I also believe each surgeon has thier own requirements. I had to have a gallbladder ultrasound and a sleep study but his patients with blood pressure and/or cholesterol issues also need clearance from a cardiologist. Double check EVERYTHING before submission, it will help keep the process running smoothly.

^^^ I agree. I had a ton of requirements. 6mo PCP supervised diet. Psych evals, upper GI, sleep study, exercise physiologist, EKG, labs etc... Every surgeon and Insurance is different. My surgeon wanted EKG upper GI due to history of GERD and PVCs. My surgeon requires the exercise physiologist and support groups and even to read a book. I heard that there was a girl who went in for her pre op surgical visit and they realized she hadn't read the book and they canceled the surgery. She said she didn't know, but knowing what I know I have a hard time believing she didn't know. I knew about the book during my informational seminar and had read it within the week. Better to double, triple check than regret it later.

My requirements were pretty much the same. I had two Nutritionist visits and a phsyc eval. And the only pre-testing was blood work a week before my surgery that's it. I have united healthcare.

I had no issues at all with my Insurance. I went in for consult and found out two weeks later I had been approved. I have awesome insurance and will even be covered for Excess skin removal when the time comes. **** luck!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
