From Failure to Success

Recommended Posts

I had the lap band for two years and my doctor wanted to do the removal and replacement of the sleeve all at once. So, it was done all at once on July 15th. I must say that I have lost 15 lbs in 9 days which is simply marvelous, I just wish it was a bit easier to adjust my eating (drinking) my food, It is a huge difference from the two in terms of recuperating and eating styles. Im in for the long term changes here and I'm on the fence here... But no turning back now! Lol! I have to keep telling myself... it will all be worth it in the end :)

The sleeve is soooo much more different! I had a couple of sad days but I'm over it now and been walking every day and feeling better day by day :) the sleeve is way more affective!

I had the band placed in 2010 I at my biggest was 389 :( I got pregnant 1 year after band was placed lost 120 pounds then gained 45. My band started to fail on me after I had her, went to an awesome Bariatric dr, and had the revision surgery. Was approved tru Medicaid very fast. I am a year post op and have lost 105 pounds and officially lost 200 pounds since 2010 whoooohooo!!! I am a changed person weigh 189 and feel amazing.. I am done on weight loss and my surgeon is working on my Tummy Tuck procedure next is my arm surgery. Due to 200 pound loss skin on arms is a must to remove, stomach is not bad but is recommend to be removed. I wear lots of dresses and love it :). Transition is a tiny hard, but u will adjust quickly and love it I promise u can eat almost what u want just very tiny portions best decision in my life :).. Good luck to you darling you can do it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
