Most carry US currency. Just carry small bills in order to make it easier to make change.

Most places in Mexico accept U.S. currency. Just remember that you will get change in pesos and the rate won't be as good as you would get from a bank or exchange center. But if you end up using smaller bills, as already suggested, the difference will be negligible. Tips are always appreciated even if in dollars.

If you are going to TJ, dollars will be fine. I don't think we even got change in pesos....but hubby was the one shopping :) Advice for using small bills is good.

I didn't exchange any money and mostly used my card. I did need cash at one point and was able to withdraw cash in US dollars. My sleeve buddy and her hubby did exchange some money, then found themselves trying to use up all their pesos before they left. Just about every place I went accepted US dollars, so it seemed easier to me to just use them.
