September Sleevers...! Come on in and chat!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I'm sept 10 as well. I am a bag of mixed emotions. Excited. Anxious. Nervous. Etc. i kinda wish it was already done and my new life was here cause im pretty good at freaking myself out. is anyone Nervous that the rest of your stomach is gone permanently? Is there anything that can happen in the future that might need the rest of your stomach to be there?

I am September 10th too:) I think there is another on the 10th with us, but I can't find her post! I am definitely nervous about the permanent change, but my fear of not being able to live because I'm overweight overrides my nervousness and fear about the surgery. I am super nervous about starting my liquid diet in just a few weeks. I just keep telling myself what everyone reminds me - keep looking at the big picture!!

Just finished my last preop requirement and waiting for a surgery date, I'm assuming it will be September. Super excited and can't stop reading forums and YouTube blogs. Surgery will be at Holy Cross in Ft. Lauderdale, I'm in SW Fla, anyone else in the area?

I'm on the surgery schedule for Sept 9th too, I'm not as nervous as I was, I have a dear friend that's been talking me through the process because she was sleeved in February. She's down 70lbs since Feb, that's with no exercise strictly diet change. She's been telling me exactly what to expect, and what I need to intake to stay hydrated and energized. Also informed me of any worse case scenarios like hers, she tested positive for the H-pyloren and was kept in the hospital another night because she couldn't get her liquids down. She gave me her favorite Protein Drinks to try and premeasured cups for liquids and soft foods. I'm very glad to be out of work for 3 weeks to really invest in healing and closely following doctors orders post op.

I don't think so. I want to do it but I'm not quite sure if I should set it up as Open, Closed, Private, etc. I want folks to be able to find it, but I want it to be private so not everyone can see our posts!

I hadn't thought of the physical tools like measuring cups, etc. I have an electronic food scale, but I forgot about getting some of the other stuff in advance. Good reminders!

Hmm, maybe set as private and then just invite ppl to join on here? Post the info in the signature portion so if someone sees it they are able to join? I believe that is how other month sleevers did it, bc people were asking to join - but not 100% sure.

H-pylori is a bacterial infection which usually is the cause of stomach ulcers. Easily treatable, antibiotic for 7-10 days.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
