BK...sounds like you need a slight UNFill!!! Call your DR and get back there ASAP!!! If you keep PBing too much you can make your band slip I think! I'd go back to liquids, drink some Protein Shakes until you can get some fill taken out!

Hang in there!! Your body is probably in starvation mode too, which is why you're not losing....

OK everyone! I'm back! I got my first fill and it was 2.2cc. What's y'alls take on this? Is this too much or not enough for a first fill? I'm feeling great at the moment. I was STARVING earlier but I'm ok now. Hope everyone's having a great day!

Yes, BK to the doctors ASAP! Get a slight unfill. You may only need .1CC removed to help BUT do it ASAP.

Kristen is right about slipping. Everytime you “heave” to throw up you are putting stress on the band and if you do this for an extended period of time your band will slip or could eventually erode into your stomach! Not good.

Now this has only been going on for a week or so with you… so don’t freak out. You just can NOT continue to let it happen. It is not healthy for you.

You are also not getting enough calories (in my opinion) You should be getting closer to 800/day. Your body probably feels like it is starving. You have to make sure you are getting enough Protein to prevent muscle and Hair loss, and with only that small amount of calories I bet you aren’t getting the 60-80grams/day that you should be.

Drink only fluids (broth, shakes, water) until you get the unfill. Your esophagus is swollen due to the irritation from PB’ing(vomiting). You must allow it to heal for a few days because right now that will complicate the issue and make it even harder to get solid or mushies to go down. You band was too tight and now you will be swollen on top of that. A Double whammy.

Take it very easy. Warm fluids would be best. Talk to that Doc!! ASAP

Love ya sweetie and take care of that esophagus…

BK sweetie I hope you called for that UNfill. I agree with everyone, get some of that out asap!

I was in the dr today, pcp, I have mastitis - I'm 45 fricking years old for petes sake! I haven't nursed a baby in 16 years! So they put me on a liquid antibiotic - YUKO! - and I go to a breast specialist next friday to see why I'd be getting this. No Nat hubster hasn't been getting any milk so I don't think its that. The good news is I'm down 7 lbs since the last time I was at my band dr. I weighed 204 with jeans and a sweater so I know they would subtract 2 lbs for that. And the other thing is that when I asked what I weighed the last time I was there in Oct. I was 231. So thats a good 27 lbs or more - yea me! I was kinda discouraged because I would like to see it come off faster and right now with this fill its about 2 lbs a week. So thats good. I think I'll hold off on getting another fill until I really feel its necessary. I'm trying to eat solids, like yesterday we went to lunch and I ate 1/2 of my side salad and a 1/4 lb hamburger but without a bun and I was full all day.

Whoever asked - I got 2cc my first fill and I'm pretty happy with it. I suggest after you are done with the liquid and mushie stages then you should try to stick to good solid foods.

Cabbage on the boob - I have green in the house but not any purple - I guess I'll give it a shot. LOL sounds hilarious to me, like I'm being punked or something!

Sassy....what size band do you have?? Sounds like if you got 2ccs you probably have the VG (or 10 cc band) like me! I only got 1.65 on my first fill so it sounds like you got a good amount!

STEPH....Awesome on the weight loss!!! Dang...you guys are all doing so well!! I'm feeling so very stuck :-( Need that fill ASAP b/c otherwise I'm going to slip back into my old bad habits!!

VA - I don't know! They never told me and a lot of ppl have been asking me. What are the different sizes? I almost forgot to even ask how much got until she voluntarily told me about the 2.2cc.

I think there are 3 different sizes...I know one holds 4 ccs and the other holds 10ccs and I'm not sure about the 3rd size? Someone else might know. You should call your Dr. and ask if you want to know!

Just a quick note. I have a sick toddler on my hands.

My fill is working PERFECTLY! I feel just like I did when my band was brand new! I had a 3/4 cup of Protein drink for dinner and am all full! I am happy!

I'm on liquids for 48 hours, on mushies for 48 hours and then I can go back onto regular food.

Steph - LOL @ hubby and your milk. Cracked me up!

KayDoll - sorry you're sick. You've got a lot going on with you. Feel better, honey.

bk - get a little unfill. Only do liquids for now. You'll be better soon.

Sassy - Call your surgeon and ask him which band you have. I have the VG band.

VAB - how are you feeling? Did you get on that elliptical yet? That's a nice one!

I'm going to cuddle my boy and then hoist my steadily shrinking azz onto this ellipical beast. NOT in the mood, but whatcha gonna do?

Love you guys!

Nathalie

P.S. Boo Boo Kitty - I live in Grand Rapids, MI. My surgery was performed at MMPC. Next year is the Bears' year. I was Superbowl Shuffling for 2 glorious weeks there... (HA!) Where in Michigan are you? Where did you have your surgery performed? How long ago? You're having great success with your band! 81 pounds off? AMAZING GIRL!

so I told my sister about the cabbage on the boob - she died laughing! she said either it'll work or people will be getting a good laugh at you! It kinda felt good, nice and cold against that burning hot boob. totally going to bed in about a half hour - steph needs sleep - tons to do before mama gets here. btw - mom, sis, niece and great niece are all coming, did I tell you great niece just found out shes pregnant? shes not quite 17. yeah I know - my niece is going to be a gramma at the ripe old age of 35 - my sister is going to be a great gram at the age of 57 - tell me I come from a dysfunctional family. Mom is going to be a great great gramma - she'll be 79 next month. crazy I tell you its all crazy

I had surgery August 1st @ Hurley in Flint. I live in Jackson. So the Colts winning was a big deal here. My next door neighbor is personal friends with Tony and I have met him a few times, didn't help me at all with the win. :)

I think next year is our year too! I have been waiting for it so darn long it hurts! :girl_hug:

((((Kaydoll))) - sounds like you got alot going on sweetie. Take time for yourself and try to get better. You did mean literally sick right? Or just sick because you have too much going on? Either way, try to squeeze in some Kay time. Whats the new job? You never mentioned a new job before. Did you go in to the dr yet, is it this week? Hows the band doing? When you get a moment catch us up.

I slept so good last night. I told hubster at 6:30 "I'm taking a sleeping pill at 7 and plan to be in bed and asleep by 8" (in womans talk that meant, you wait up for Olivia to get home, turn off all the lights, and don't expect to get any) - I was true to my word. I was asleep by 8 and got 9 1/2 hours of sleep - so today I tackle the house. Clean, paint that wall and change bedding and I think I'll be ready for the troops to get here. Then if theres enough snow I think I'll ski this afternoon.

My dd bf's grndpa died, she said they had enough food and to make them a dessert. She suggested cinnamon rolls - so I made monkey bread aka pinch me cake. Take the biscuits in a can - 4 cans, cut them in 1/4's, grease a bundt pan, I use about 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar with some karo, spread that in the bottom with some nuts, roll your biscuits in cinnamon and sugar and toss in the pan, bake at 350 for 30 minutes - out of this world! (I made a half batch for us- MISTAKE) I've been picking the walnuts off the top since I baked it. But hubby and dd have done a great job at destroying it so I think I'm safe. Didn't I tell you I'm all for the quick, easy and yummy desserts! :) Oh btw - I made a half batch in just a round cake pan, and used 2 cans of the biscuits.

Nat - how's the little man? Hope he's feeling better.

OOOhhhh Steph- I heart monkey bread. I used to make that every Christmas morning for my kids. Of course this Christmas I refused since I was on liquids (darn there goes my mom of the year award...)

Sorry to hear about the passing. Also sorry to hear about the mastitis..WTF? That is strange, huh? ANd for what it's worth, I have heard of the cabbage thing in the bra for women trying to dry up their milk supply as well, so it is definitely worth a shot.

I have been reading, but not replying as I would like to. I have a really bad sore throat which I am hoping is not strep. I keep looking down my throat with my penlight to make sure I don't see anything. Right now it is just red. Yuk. I rarely get anything that my kids bring home so I am a little annoyed that I got this! I have an exam next week that is huge, plus a make-up clinical at the hospital (which means 2 clinicals) and the kids will be on vacation next week. I feel badly because I am not going to be fun mom next week!

The new job is good. It is strenuous but quick and good money! I am taking care of a young woman who is paralyzed. I just get her up in the morning and help get her ready for the day. I actually break a sweat! SHe is really really nice..someone I would hang out with. The job came out of the blue, but it fits in my schedule and I couldn't pass it up for now. I will at least hang onto this until I pass my boards and get a hospital job.

I went for my weigh in today and I was down 5 pounds!!! Last week I was up 0.8 so I figured I would have a better loss. I never expected that much. I was ecstatic! That is 44.5! I go to the MD on Thursday to see about a fill. I am nervous and not 100% sure I want one. I am not sure he will give me one seeing as I am losing. I don't know what I should do...The scale is finally budging again. We'll see on Thursday.

Anyway, I have to go get thr kids.

BK-please post your photos on yahoo. I bet we will see a difference!!!!

Nat-thanks for my lovely gift! I was so excited to receive a package today! Fun. And to my secret valentine, the gift is in the mail but I did not anticipate the long journey so it may be there on Thursday instead...sorry!!!!! It will get there though, so if someone is wondering it will be there soon......

Okay..gotta run. Take care.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
