Denise, I know what you mean. I have a HOT girlfriend who is young looking and just like me she attracts unattractive, boring men. I am lucky to have found Michael but he can be difficult...but he is fit and attractive.

To upload a photo, click on the "more reply options" bottom right corner, then click on "choose file", find your photo and upload it. Click "add to post", click "post" or "preview, then post"

To upload a YouTube video, just Copy the video's IP in the top bar, then Paste it in the "reply to this topic",

I copied and pasted this from another thread so I don't lose it. I've never known how to do any of this.

I'd love to copy and paste the sugar daddy pictures into my Facebook. That's hilarious and so true!

Sheryl your hoseback ride with all the wildlife and animals sounds like a trip to heaven.

I think Denise wanted the instructions in a place she can find them. She obviously loved the photo and wants to use it in her FB page.

Guys come on let's pull together. No one is posting and we are going to run to ground. Surely we don't want this. Kim, Denise, Sheryl, Coops, Georgia ... Surely we don't want to loose touch. XXX

@@UK Cathy I am limiting my time on BP because Alex's post about how us vets are big meanies pissed me off. I still want to be supportive to our little group though! What is going on in your life Cathy?

I am gaining weight, I haven't stepped on a scale in 2 weeks because I am scared and I need to get my butt in gear and get on the program!

Have you seen this - perhaps returning the vets forum to a limited one again? Funny thing i suggested it, LL picked it up and lots of people are for it. I am sure there will still be whining newbies who don't like what we have to say to each other...

I am so sore! Yesterday, I went jogging (not walking!) and had a brutal golf lesson.

Thanks for responding Sheryl. My post was written when I was feeling vulnerable. I'm just feeling a bit down and put upon. I have had a cold for nearly a month and am finding it hard to shake off. I think I am over the worst of it now. I'm still trying to take care of mum who lives 200 miles away, working, hubby working away and my elderly dog has just been through major surgery. I didn't think she was going to make it and I made my boys say good bye to her when they visited for Father's Day. Life was just feeling hard.

My weight is approx 28lb up from my lowest and I wasn't at my goal then. Feeling a bit of a failure. I know what is wrong, diet wrong, wine up and exercise virtually zero. I have a couple of days of being 'good' but then I lose it again.

Cuba in 7 weeks and I need to be lighter.

I saw the post about the vets forum, I did post about how I find it difficult to find when accessing via iPad. I agree that 18 months post op is the best time to be a 'vet'. A couple of old names have come out of the woodwork in the past few days so maybe it will become more lively.

You seem to be enjoying life at the moment which is nice to see.

I'm sorry I haven't been posting. I don't want us to lose this little group either.

I wish Kim would post. maybe her husband taking his trip without her has gotten her down. I hope not.

I just get depressed because my life just sucks. I have wonderful friends, but they are in Portland more and more too because their kids and grandkids live there too. I wish I had moved there when I moved from Chicago years ago.

I need more single friends who want to go and do fun things. I hear about things, but I won't go alone. The majority of my friends are married couples.

I am depressed about my weight too, so I am right there with you Cathy and Sheryl. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get down a few lbs. There are just temptations everywhere, and I don't seem to have any willpower anymore. Also, I can eat more. The other day I was really appalled that I ate 2 pieces of pizza. I have never been able to eat more than one piece.

I was doing well with my new trainer at the gym, but he told me he quit and is going to the other side of the state where he's been offered a job as a trainer at a much better gym .

Sheryl, I did copy and paste the directions for posting a picture. I have never known how to do it! Now the directions are somewhere I can find them, instead of trying to remember which post they are on.

Denise is a move to Portland out of the question? I know you started to exercise again is everything all OK with your back now and did the op fix everything?

Weight gain is a pig - no take that back I'm being the pig which is causing the gain.

I wish Kim would post as I want to know all about her Scotland trip.

Moving to Portland would be a really big ordeal. For one thing, houses are much more expensive there. It's so spread out. it would be difficult for me to buy a house near my son, where houses are really expensive. If I bought a house in one of the less expensive areas, I would be about an hour's drive to my son's house.

My daughter lives here and will never be able to move bc she shares custody of her son and her divorce states she can't move more than 50 miles. It's a great place to raise kids, cause you're too tired to have any night life.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
