Shesha,

How are things going with you?

Bill :hungry:

Hi Bill,

Thanks for asking!

Things are going great! I started my Pre-op diet today. I just have to do low carb for 10 days. So far, so good.

I am really starting to get excited. Don't get me wrong, I've had my "what the heck am I doing?" moments, but when I saw my before pictures that my hubby took for me yesterday....yikes...I am glad I am getting this done!!

How are things goin' with you???

Well, Shesha, for not having a date for the operation yet, I'm doing great! I started the pre-op diet, same as yours, low-carb.

It would be easier if I had a specific date to work towards, but so far I'm sticking to it, I've lost 10 pounds. The bad news is, my Surgeon said 50 would be ideal! :embarassed: So I've gotten thru the 'honeymoon' phase so far . . . .

I agree w/you about the pictures, (not yours silly), mine. I have a set of 'befores' before I started the diet. Yuck!

Stick to that diet, every ounce off helps!

Bill

Glad to hear you are doing so well! Low carb isn't bad. Just be thankful he didn't make you do optifast! Yikes!

Hopefully you'll have a date soon. It will definately help you stay focused.

I get my band in a few days. I am really excited, yet a tad aprehensive, which is expected I guess. I know I am making the right decision, and am fortunate that I am able to do this at a younger age and hopefully reduce the chances of developing the co-morbidities that my older relatives have.

Hi all!

I have my band! Everything went really well. I did "crash" after surgery and slept from 5:00 pm until 4:30 am when I had to get up to go potty.

So far so good. I have 5 incisions on my belly and they seem to be healing well. Just a little itchy. My tummy feels better today too. At first, it felt like you did a ton of crunches. But today, just a little tenderness on the stomach side.

Congrats on getting your band date!

Things are going very well. Thank you for asking! I healed up quickly and feel great! If I didn't have these scars on my belly, I wouldn't even know I was just banded!

My post-op restriction has pretty much left. I still have restriction, but it's pretty light. I've been comfortably eating around 1000 calories a day. My weight loss has kind of stalled. I have been stuck at 249 for a week now. But, I haven't gained, which is great.

The whole banding experience with Dr. K was wonderful. You'll really like him, the office staff and the people at the surgery center. Keep us posted on your journey!

btw.. where in Wi are you from? I am from near Wausau.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
