I am 6 days post op. I tried to walk but I'm always breathless and my breaths are shallow.

What can I do to improve this sleevers?!!!

I think just keep trying to get some walking--whatever you can manage--in each day...don't push yourself at this point...I think it is important just to try to walk--even if just around your house--more each day...be patient...you will start to feel stronger

Are you doing your breathing exercises they assigned you in the hospital? If not, get back to doing the breathing exercises and take little steps in exercise as mentioned above. I would also call your surgeon's office and let the know that you are struggling. they will have some suggestions that would be helpful to you. :)

I think any difficulties in your breathing you should go to the Er bypass the doc office they don't have all the equipment. Not trying to scare you or anything but two times in my life I have experienced shallow breathing after my Caesarian and I had pneumonia and Fluid backed up in the chest cavity... Better be safe then sorry. My dr assured me that it was nothing and to do breathing exercises and I did but it wasn't good enough. I hope it's not the case with you.. Please go get checked out.

Please do the exercises even if they make you cough and it hurts. I either wore my abdominal binder or put a pillow firmly up against my belly to cough. The coughing is good, it gets the gunk out of your lungs and help prevent pneumonia. I know it hurts but trust me, you don't want pneumonia either. Hang in there...it will get better.

I was sleeved 6-19-13 and I had a hard time catching my breath but do your walking it takes a few weeks to breath better, just short walks taking deep breaths, you will find it will get better.

When I did the breathing exercises in teh hospital, I kept coughing and the respiratory therapist said "good we want you to cough". So, coughing may be a good thing.

The coughing is clearing your lungs of stuff.....walk, sip, sip, sip, walk and repeat. Challenge yourself to get in more water.....:)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
