I finally have my surgery date (8/14) and I am beyond excited. Looking for some sleeve buddies to go through this process with. I have been making changes already and so far so good. I have increased my activity level and stopped drinking Diet Dr Pepper, which was a huge change for me. What is everyone else doing to prepare? Does anyone who is post op have any helpful tips for things to have on hand after surgery?

IT SURE IS PATTYGEE!! Ever since I got the news I haven't been able to concentrate on anything else. Lol!! I'm so thankful for this forum where I can post and get the most amazing feedback and info as I haven't told ANYONE of my surgery!! )))

All I keep saying to myself is that this time next year, God willing, I will be a whole new me!! A happier, healthier, more active me who doesn't melt in the summertime. Lol

You an me both.....I think my DH will be thrilled once 8/6 is over and done with LOL I have told one sister and DH, and that's it.....this board is my support and sounding board....Good luck...........and yay for nor more melting in the summer!

So, August 6th is going to be here real soon, and this week I'm preparing things to stash in the freezer for DH to nuke that first week after surgery....'cuz mama's taking a break.

I'm thinking pulled pork for sandwiches, cooked spiced chicken for tacos, meatballs, shepherds pie.

Anyone else doing the same? or are you families self sufficient? My DH will dust, vacuum, clean the bathroom, laundry.....pretty much everything, but he can't cook.

I'm traveling out of town for surgery, but have picked up some frozen dinners from Dinner's at 6 for my family to eat. I'm not cooking anything on the pre-op diet that I like because it's too tempting!

I have to do the same or my family will starve..lol. have 2 and 3 yr old and 1 big kid (dh) lol I am having surgery on the 8th so will prepare and freeze meals starting the week before also

August 5th is my sleeve date ????it's coming up fast and I am so excited!! Tomorrow starts my 2nd week on the liquid diet. It's not quite as tough as I thought it would be. I just joined this site today and look forward to all the new info I can get from everyone. Good luck to all!!

Me! My surgery is on the 12th. Starting my pre-op diet tomorrow!! I woke up thinking "Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life!" It's time to truly make a lifestyle change! I've made a realization that not only will I change the way I eat, and start exercising, but I need to work on loving me for me, regardless of my looks. I am my own worst critic. Although we have some possible struggles ahead of us, I'm so excited to start the journey! I wish everyone the best as we begin our pre-op diets and upcoming surgery!
