I think the two week liquid diet will be worse than the surgery itself, but I'll survive...

My nut told me I didn't have to do the liquid diet bc my liver was already small but I'm thinking if I should just do it anyway to get use to it .

I've got two weeks on the per Optifast diet. Not looking forward to it. I have a feeling that I may b a raving lunatic dying this time so I have warned everyone around me! I told my husband that he was only allowed to eat things I didn't like during this time.

Hahaha

I've got two weeks on HMR. I have started replacing some meals with shakes to get used to it. So far I've been a like shaky and it has got me worried for when I'm on full liquids.< /p>

Have any of you been told that it was important to keep up your Fiber while on Meal Replacements? My dietician told me to take benefiber during this time as not to get constipated.

I've found in the past when I've done the shake diets I tend to use the bathroom more. But that might be because I was eating a full main meal at night.

What are some of your experiences?

I have not heard about increasing fiber, but I will ask in the morning.

I have my big pre-op appointment in the morning with my surgeon and nut. I am nervous, and hoping I get good news. Surgery is less than a month away!

I called today to get the ball rolling on my complication insurance, since I will be having surgery out of the country and my health insurance excludes WLS. Not scared yet, just excited. However, what will happen is that I will be TERRIFIED on surgery day!!!

My surgery date is August 6th as long as insurance approval goes through. I start my two week liquid diet Juky 23rd, I will be having a light and fit dannon greek vanill ayogurt for Breakfast, a eas Protein Shake for lunch and am allowed a lean meat and small salad for dinner. Only thing that sucks about having surgery early August is NO SWIMMING,,with2 small children this might be difficult..but a small price to pay for health..I too have a busy August but this was the only date that would work for me. Hopefully we can all keep eachother posted on our after surgery progress. Oh and my pcp called today after some blood work and told me I have High Triglyerides.. Surgery couldnt have come at a better time! Bring it on!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
