It's a catch 22. I remember feeling so weak, dehydrated and terrible. I had no appetite so I wasn't taking in enough calories and also felt nauseous. I remember contacting my coordinator and she told me I needed the fluids n calories. I sipped the Protein chicken broth and Protein Shakes and felt better within days. I'm a year out now and never regret it. I remember the first two months though were a little difficult.

My doctor travels everywhere so he's not at the same place anymore.

And I didn't regret the sleeve my first week but now I am. I'm starting to wish I never done it

You sound dehydrated! You need a anti-nausea med to help with the throwing up. At the every least sip some Gatorade G2 to help your electrolytes. You sound like you need to go back to the hospital for dehydration. That is a somewhat common occurrence after surgery in the first few weeks. Please be careful!!

I think skrubabilen is right on. It sounds like a trip to the ER would be a good idea. Once you get dehydrated its really hard to keep anything down. I don't think your going to die, but it sounds like some medical intervention may be necessary. Good luck.

Sherri is so right. Once you get dehydrated you asrebehind the 8 ball because you get sicker, don't feel hungry or thirsty. You should go to n ER wheretbry can give you IV fluids. Yu will be amazed at how much better you will feel

It's hard to say how long it will take. You are taking some chances. If anything, just keep sipping Gatorade. And head to the hospital as soon as you land. But I wouldn't even risk that. Dehydration is serious biz, especially after this surgery because it is such a challenge to get adequate Fluid when you are already hydrated let alone when you are so dehydrated that you are this sick. They would need to check your levels and put in an IV and push fluids into you. Are you going to the bathroom at all?

You need to go to the ER immediately, forget about the flight. If you're nauseous now, just imagine how you'd feel on a plane! Plus if you're dehydrated now...this weekend Dallas will be in the triple digit temperature (106 degrees). Sounds dangerous.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
