Were You Prescribed Pills Post-Op...

Recommended Posts

I was reading the thread about taking pills post-op and wondered if there was anyone who was not on any medication pre-op and needed to be prescribed pills post-op. I know people who have GBS have to take supplements post-op and wondered if LBS patients have to do the same?

Still researching!! :)

I was prescribed Vicodin, which I flushed down the toilet. Other than my allergy medicine, I have not taken any of my regular medicines since surgery (Lipitor and Cymbalta for generalized pain).

I am taking 2 chewable Tums for Calcium, one Gas-X chewable with each "meal", one Biotin tablet (a B Vitamin supplement), and 2 chewable multi-Vitamins per day.

I didn't have any either, and actually I didn't need any. Each person is different though, some do have a lot of pain and others don't have any. Good Luck and may you be the lucky one!

Good luck researching... Best thing I have ever done for myself besides education.... Nothing was prescribed for me but I was given some pain pills and drops when released from hospital. Go for it!

I was prescribed Ursodiol a gallstone dissolving agent (?) which really surprised me. I am to take 2 a day for 6 months. Also Pantoprazole for acid reflux, and Scopolamine transderm Patches for nausea if needed.

I did not take any medications prior to surgery. After surgery, for 6 months, I need to take Uso Forte. This is a pill my doc gives anyone who still has their gall bladder. Studies show that without this pill, it is likely that you could need to have your gall bladder remooved.

I also need to take chewable Vitamins.

Hope this helps.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
