Silry, maybe a book to read. I read a little bit at the hospital only becasue I got so bored with the tv. Oh and lip balm. My lips were so dry and my chap stick was a saving grace.

Ok all of the Feb. bandsters please answer.

HOw much total Water, juice, protien, Jello, etc. does everyone take in per hour?

I am so afraid that I have stretched my band out something terrible. I feel like crying!!! Today was day 3 from surgery, I was drinking 4 medicine cups of Isopure with no problem. with no restriction. Thought I would try Soup (chicken broth). Was conversing with husband and before I knew it I had eaten WHOLe can of broth. In about 40 minutues.

Didn't feel full. About an hour after that I have felt miserable, bloated, tummy ache. etc. This feeling has lasted with me for approximately 7 hours. Yes 7 hours!!! Still feels the same. Haven't drank anything since. I've been walking, and eating gas x. Please give me feed back. I will just die if I have ruined the band on my 3rd day. I;m sick just thinking the damage that I could have done.:help:

Ready to lose:

I hope this "theory" is helpful.

I had an indepth conversation with my dr. and feeling full etc. today.

You may not be swollen anymore thus allowing liquid to funnel directly through your pouch and stoma into your lower stomach. This would be a logical answer to exactly what is going on. Which would coincide to exactly what my dr. was explaining to me today on how patients could drink high calorie drinks, never feel full (because they funnel through) and gain weight on the band

I hope this settles you down.

I after reading your post think this above explaination is logical.

baby girl;

you are NOT online right now but I would have talked with you regarding anything you wanted just to get your mind off of your pain and being home alone with kids.

If you come back online see if I am there and PM me or post and I will talk about whatever you want. Sometimes just talking helps the time fly.

It was a success !!!

no bad reaction from anesthesia, great staff, surgery went smoothly. I had a hernia repair too.... BUT the pain................. Lord, help me!!!!!!!! I can barely breath, I am on on liquid lortab. my tummy is puffy from the gas, it looks like I am 7 months pregnant. I can feel my stomach, woke up crying " my stomach" !!!!!!!!!! I am scheduled to fly back on saturday... I do not see how I will make it - I will probably have to stay here for a week. Each patient is different, I have heard of people driving on the second day. Maybe this is because of my hernia repair....

I have never experienced so much pain in my life.

:omg:

Pam, thank you so much for that!!! I am feeling a bit better. Granted it is 3:45 am and I wish I was sleeping but I am sure the Lortab will take care of that soon. Righ now my back is hurting from not being able to lie flat. MY stomach is alot less gassy which was a huge problem earlier. Luckily my kids will be at school and day care tomorrow (well actually today I guess) and my Mom will be picking them up to watch them until my husband is home from work. That will help me sooo much.

Ready to lose you did not ruin your band on day 3 sweetie. Your liquids are probably just moving right through it and then you were facing some massive gas. It takes a lot more than 1 day of overeating to strech ourself out and you are not going to do in on chicken broth. I still don't even want to look at food.< /p>

Lizrbit,

The month will go way faster than you expect! My band date came so fast that it made my head spin, and I found out my surgery date the day after Christmas!

Hang in there, follow your doctor's instructions, and keep us posted!!! You'll do great!

Susannah,

How are you doing today? You haven't posted in a while, and I'm starting to worry about you. Your last post said that you were having an emotional meltdown. Are you past that yet? Let us know how you're doing, girl!! We're all in this together!:D

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
