I think something may be wrong with me... I HATE Protein Shakes. I'm on the 3rd Protein brand, and it's disgusting! My first shake was an EPIC fail as I made it with milk that I hadn't realized had gone "bad". Three gulps in, and I about lost my cookies! Yesterday, I tried a new brand, different flavor, GOOD milk and whil I managed to drink it, all I could think about was how gross it was. And, the thought of drinking another has made me nauseated... HELP! I have GOT to find a way to get all the protein in. I'm still in the pre-op phase, and I'm having surgery in 10 days. My fear is that if I don't like them now, then I'm SURE not going to like them post surgery! ANYONE????

I really don't like hardly any of the powder brands. Try Premier Protein pre-made shakes. You can get them at costco, Walgreens, etc. I think they're decent.

Get some PB2. This is dry Peanut Butter. Add 2 tbs to shake when making and the peanut butter taste takes over. It makes them tolerable and also gives you more Protein with no fat and low calorie.

Thanks for the tips! I will try them ALL. At this point, all I see the Protein Shakes are good for is brick mortar or torture for prisoners. I feel like such a failure... I'm now worried I won't be successful at this. All because I can't drink shakes!

Try Unjury strawberry sorbet. I hate Protein and have tried them all. This is the one I can stomach without a problem. Good luck!!

I really like Isopure Protein drinks. They come in glass bottles.. they cost about $4.00. So worth it though. 40 grams of Protein in each bottle. Kinda taste like Gatorade. I drink it with ice throughout the day. My fave is mixing half blue raspberry half crystal light lemonade! You'll get your protein and Water in. Good luck!

Do you dilute the isopure. I have the hardest time getting them down. They taste like Gatorade with gravel. although its clear, it was very hard for me to digest. My nutritionist suggested that I cut it with Water or crystal lite. Ill try it again. I'm 6 weeks out and i tried it last at week 3.

Premier Protein was my choice too. Smaller amount to drink (11 oz) than the other pre-made ones...and not so sweet. The sweet was really getting to me with some of the others. I also add 3 Tbsp of non-fat dry milk to whatever I can to add Protein.< /p>

I found the pre-made shakes to taste too sweet for me, and I didn't enjoy them. I used Pure Protein chocolate Frosty powder and often mixed with the above mentioned PB2. LOVED IT. You can also try the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup. It will definitely aid in getting in your Protein and savory instead of sweet.

Good luck!!!

Yes, I do sometimes dilute the Isopure with ice. My favorite is half isopure half crystal light lemonade. I Love it over ice. Good luck!

I've started mixing my shakes using almond milk (SoDelicious brand, vanilla flavor, with added protein). I like the creamy texture better than either Water or regular milk.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
