Feeling yucky, lack protein

Recommended Posts

I haven't felt well the past few days. How big of a deal is it to be below my Protein goals if I don't eat enough for a couple of days?

I don't really feel like forcing in food while I don't feel well, but I'd like to know if it could hurt me in the long run.

Thanks

When you say below how far are you talking? I've had a real lack of hunger lately so I've just made myself resort back to Protein Drinks to be sure. I had one day where I exercised but ended up with a splitting headache by night. I thought it was dehydration although I was over the 64 oz. Had some Protein Drink and the headache subsided almost immediately.

I've had about 20g of Protein today. I've only eaten about half a meal.

I am with you cookie. I am 10 weeks out too. I can't seem to get enough food in . I was trying to get my Protein from food but its not working out. I finally went and got some shakes to make myself get more protein in. It's very important to get protein. I asked on a forum and they said if we don't get enough our body will start taking it from muscle. It can effect your organs too. So I decided I better get on the stick. I hate the way I feel when I eat sometimes .

I'm only 12 days post op. I got so mad that I couldn't get my Protein in from the nasty shakes....I went ahead and got a dish of vanilla-88 fat free- from dq and added light Peanut Butter. I also had the insides of 2 crab Rangoon. Even though they are not the best choice for calories...they made me feel amazing. This is the best I have felt since coming home.

I usually get about 80g of Protein a day. About 500-600 calories. Just wondering if being low for a couple days will have long term side effects.

I am almost 3 weeks out. I eat an egg beater mixed with cottage cheese for Breakfast, 1/2 cup cottage cheese and 1/4 cup homemade chicken salad for lunch and 1/2 cup of Beans for dinner. That normally puts me super close to 60g of protien and if I need more I will have a small shake or Isopure.< /p>

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
