I just got off liquids yesterday. I had it for two days. At first it was hard but then it got easier. I chewed ice non stop, because I just needed to chew something. I was allowed decaf coffee/tea. Broth, protein shakes, sf jello, and sf Popsicles. I say change up your flavors and chew ice or jello it'll get better!!

I know it's not recommended but I would have just a few of the Cheerios. I went through this as well. Had a tiny bite of what I wanted and after I did, I was fine! Didn't want more, it relieved my need for wanting to feel like chewing something. Good luck!

It's the Premier Protien shake from costco. It has 30 grams per 11oz.

At this point I think part of it is that your stomach is numb from having the nerves cut and you are not feeling any fullness yet... I drink premier shakes too and trust me I'm full after!

Can you have broth?? I wound think If you can already drink shakes broth would be on your list??

If so either make homemade because canned sucks! Or go to a take out place and order a broth based Soup (not creamy yet) and ask for mostly broth then go home and stain it.

Much more satisfying than canned or bouillon.

I shot up heroin once too, and I was fine....

Buahahaha! :-)

I have an Ice shaver that I would freeze different things into small, 8 oz. "hockey pucks" and drop them in. Shave away...instant chew texture but melting into a liquid. It worked fabulously for those 'I want to chew' moments. I had 2 wks. Liquids....best of luck!

:) that's very nice... Explains many of ur responses :P

You mean the responses I give full of misinformation and suggesting to others that its ok to do stupid dangerous stuff at 2 days post op?

Oh! I forgot the :P

No I actually meant ur very rude responses and supreme ego... There's a psychological explanation for ur personality.

As for the actual poster, should u choose to do as is recommended, great! If not, a few Cheerios, believe it or not will not kill u. As my surgeon said to me during my first week, if ur being careful and adding little tiny pieces to any liquid, u will be okay. :)

Thanks for the compliment! :D

So as per your doctors orders as long as she eats them carefully (by adding tiny pieces to liquid) she should be fine??

I'm glad that your doctor specifically cleared you and the OP here for Cheerios. It makes me feel so much better...

Nice! You are actually a medical doctor giving this advice? AWESOME!! Where did you study? :D

I really need something of substance. I am freaking starving 2 days post op. like I'm talking a small small portion of soggy cherrios? I'm desperate.

Don't do it. Walk, sip, walk, sip, walk, sip. You really want to stick with doctor's orders. Each surgeon is different and uses different methods. No one knows your body and the trauma it went through as well as she/he does. Call your NUT and ask if you can have cream based Soups watered down with skim milk (they helped me A LOT as I have really no sweet tooth), greek yogurt or pudding cups. (All allowed on my full liquid diet.)

Cheerios may go down just fine for you, maybe not. I can tell you that I am three weeks post op now and was cleared for mushies last Friday. Today is the first day I've not vomited at all since starting them. I am pretty positive I pushed it the first day and caused irritation to my tummy and esophagus causing MAJOR pain and nausea for the next few days. Why risk it? If you (God forbid) have a leak or complication, wouldn't you beat yourself up wondering if it was a fooking Cheerio?
