Hi everyone :) New to the forum; pre op

Hi everyone. I just joined this website today and am excited to have found a place that offers so much support and advice. I have struggled with my weight all of my life, yo yoing between a size 4 and a size 24. I have tried exercise, diets, juicing and Weight Watchers, but have never been able to keep the weight off. I am hoping that my gastric sleeve will help hold me accountable to healthy eating and that this support group/ the support of family and friends will help me to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I am scheduled for surgery on 6/27/13 and am on day 2 of my pre op diet. I'm kinda cranky but doing ok ;) I look forward to getting to know everyone. Right now I am definitely both scared and excited, and would love to hear y'alls success stories and recommendations, especially pertaining to surgery preparation and post op. Thank you!

Welcome! Good to have you here. :)

Drink that Water and make sure you're getting that Protein in! It gets better, just a few more days to go!

Hello and welcome,

My advice... follow doctors orders when it comes to the pre-op diet. This is a great time to get a jump start on losing those pounds. It will be over before you know it. A trick that helped me make the pre-op stage was. Protein shake, mix with lots of crushed ice and milk, add 1/2 packet of sugar free pudding powder and mix well. This is great and fills you up to the brim. You also get the feeling that you treated yourself to some delicious ice cream. I loved Vanilla Protein Shake Powder, Milk and sugar free Butterscotch Pudding Powder. The mood lifted and I still lost those 16 lbs before surgery.

Good luck.
