    8 wks progress

Hi Teri , I have been following you for sometime. How is your progress going? I seem to be stuck at a 3 months stall and don't know what to do to get that scale moving down again. Any advice ? Greetings, Neuanfang

  10. Hello there, put a little something in the water, 1/4 juice and rest water or try crystal light or some kind of flavor. Had the same problem the first 3 months out but can now tolerate water..... So don't push yourself with plain water,,try again in a few months

    exercise and caloric intake

Just keep doing what you are doing and I am sure the weight will come off. I too exercise on the elliptical for approximately 45 minutes and then do a weight lifting routine. Building muscle will slow you down a little bit but will also help get a trimmer body and not so much excess skin. I have not upped my caloric intake because of my workout. I figure as long as the numbers go down and my clothes are fitting better and better it doesn't really matter how fast I reach a certain number just as long as I keep doing what I am doing. Good luck to you!

    Excited but anxious

Roller coaster ride! that is how to best describe the feelings in pre surgery state. I was sleeved May 29th and I can understand all those feelings and thoughts that are going on inside of you. Please understand that this is more than normal and I have talked to many people who have felt this way. Yes, is something that can't be undone but it's the best thing I have ever done to myself. I feel great and am so thankful that there is help for all those who struggle and need to start over again. Good luck to you!

    Calorie consumption

OK, my questions is .... how many calories are doc's telling you to consume about 4 - 5 weeks out? I am still on soft foods but was never told by my doc or the NUT (whom I only saw one time) about how many calories to consume. If anyone has that information I would be glad to read about it.

What is happening to my skin

My skin is actually getting better. Of course it changes a little due to my being 50 but I got some amazing supplements from www.juiceplus.com and they are working wonderfully. Also drink, drink and then drink some more (water )

    weight gained back

It never ceases to amaze me when I read some of these comments. I have a family member who had the lap band and gained all their weight back after they had to have it pulled due to massive complications. I myself have the sleeve and I think it's truly what you make of it. Too many people expect a quick fix and think this is a miracle cure. Let's all remember that all of these surgeries except the duodenal switch are just a tool and not the cure. So remember that all and everything worth having takes determination and consistency....and like one of the comments made above stated we all have to try and make it work

You have just got to love yourself. These pictures look amazing. I hope to look just as good after 6 months. Today marks my 4 week's out. Your arms and legs look well toned. Did you lift weights and when were you able to start lifting. I can't wait to do resistance training. I am doing cardio now but need something to keep that body toned. Take care and keep up the good work.
  22. Hi there, I went through the exact same thing. I tried to eat less and failed at it every day but then all the emotions and I had been an emotional eater all this time anyway. I even tried not drinking and eating at the same time but that was hard as well. I can tell you that your nerves will really go on a roller coaster ride and you just have to do the best you can and not beat yourself up about it. Once you start your pre-op diet you will do great and realize that now it's really happening and your life is going to change. I am doing fine so far and feel relieved that it's finally done. I am 3 1/2 weeks out and have lost 37lbs. You will regain control over your emotions and the surgery will help you not to feel so hungry anymore and therefore in control of your eating. Good luck and God bless.
  23. Good to know there is hope
  24. My tummy makes the loudest sounds so that other people look at me, especially when I drink or eat.. It's a little embarrassing but I think... even if it stayed that way.... if that is the worst side effect of the surgery... I gladly take it and live with my new little voice inside for the rest of my life, no problem. I guess I could start singing to cover the sounds my tummy makes or I could carry a little toy frog with me and pretend he can talk
