I have to assume that you are taking the pain meds that the doc gave you. You might see if there's something else you can take. I don't think it's normal to be in that kind of pain for this long. I had my surgery June 3 and I'm off the pain meds except when I sleep at night. Everyone is different when it comes to pain meds...maybe you need a stronger one or a different one? In any case, I'd contact my surgeon

You wrote pre-op??? do you mean pot -Op??? if post-op what type of pain are you having???

Pre-op? do you mean Post-op?

Assuming you meant post-op (not pre-op), my surgeon gave me this anti-nausea suppository (I know, I know, not the most appealing) to take and it helped a lot. It also knocked me out so I could get some quality sleep.

Me personally...I had pain for the first week and a half. Mostly in my big incision, but it was intense. And by in pain, I mean doubled over and sitting very still in the recliner so that nothing moved kind of pain. Then one day, I went to get up to use the bathroom and the pain was gone...almost like it was never there to begin with.

With that said, my doctor encouraged me to use the pain meds. There is no sense in suffering after major surgery. If you run out (I ran out of pain meds within a few days) ask for more. While my doctor didn't give me more oxy's (which were amazing by the way) they gave me Vicodin which is like stronger tylenol. I took those for about two days and didn't need them anymore. But talk to your doctor, they can help!
