Lightweights in the house! Any more people with less to lose/less BMI's?

Recommended Posts

I got approved and my date is June 26!

My tentative date is the 26th too! I have to do a nutritionist meeting then bloodwork then submit everything. I don't see there being a problem with a fast approval. Congrats!

Not brave.. Very very vain and naive to the harm I was doing to myself. They actually had to sedate me when I was told they were removing my band forever. And had to keep me sedated for 5 days.

Soooooo glad my healthy mind is here.

Off to my 15 mile bike ride.. Love my sleeve :D

I am 4' 9.5" my starting bmi was 33 and some change. I weighed 159.9 on surgery day. No preop diet. I had surgery 3/14/13 and currently weigh 128.6. I am down 31.3 lbs in just over three months. I am happy with that slow loss. I am 9 lbs from a normal bmi. I went to try on clothes today and could fit a size five. I started as a twelve.

I'm 5'5 and 125. I'm doing this because I've been heavy for 25 yrs and am starting to get really stiff and sore, my feet ache and I am tired most of all, of assessing daily about what in gonna do to fix myself. It's laughable to think I can fix this myself at this point. I don't have comorbidities and my insurance isn't covering. Thanks for all your posts.

I'm 5' and weighed 198 when I started this journey. Told I should way only 97 lbs for my body type. Lost 56lbs @ 6 mon post op checkup. Now at 138 & feeling pretty good. Still losing 3-5 lbs each month. It slowed down, but steady.

I am 5ft 3 1/2in.. I never knew that and 1/2 mattered until I started this whole process. That took my BMI from closer to 40 to closer to 38. My starting weight is 222 and my goal is 120. I am waiting on insurance now to approve it... fingers crossed that they do.. on a side note.. I don't understand the whole lightweights thing... I have read and been called that several times in the past couple of months.. according to the BMI chart I am boarderline Morbit Obese..lol.. they need to make up their minds.. either I am a lightweight or I am morbit obese.. :-D

I hear you. At the end of my physicals for the last 3 yrs, doc gave me info on morbid obesity. Each time I'm thinking, " WHO is morbid obese?" So, I denied it for those three yrs. Until doc told me last yr if i returned for this year's physical with labs & weight the same or worse, i'd be medicated. i had to accept & tackle this weight thing head on. So glad I did. Funny thing, now I'm off the morbid obesity list, all labs normal, but still overweight. Next goal, off the overweight list.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
