New to LapBand Talk - Surgery Dec 15/06

Hi I am new to this site. I am a 52 year old women. Who has finally decided to take the plunge. I am nervous, but very excited. Dr. Cobourn is doing my surgery this Friday. I live in northern Alberta, Canada, therefore will be flying in to Missassauga on Thursday afternoon. Anyone else out there who is having their surgery the same day?

I've done had mine but I just wanted to wish you luck and let you know that there is nothing to worry about, truly. Mine was 45 min. and then just one hour in recovery and then I was up walking, walking, walking. On day 3 I was doing all my housework and day 7 riding 4 wheelers. Just remember to sip, sip, sip and not chug your drinks after surgery. I chugged and it caused gas so just sip, make sure and go by your doctor's orders and don't worry about losing weight for the first month, just heal, then after you get good restriction the weight will come off. Wishing you a very uneventful and quick surgery and recovery.

Welcome to LBT ahubar

Congrats on your surgery...i had mine in Australia in October 05...so far so good wouldn't change it for anything...Best wishes with your surgery. Keep us posted!

:) Becky

Ahubar, welcome and congratulations on your decision.

I'm from BC and was banded in Mexico.

You might want to check out the Canada Local Band Support threads here for specific Dr Cobourn information. I know he's banded a lot of people who post here on LBT.

Good luck with your surgery Friday.

You should look for your December 2006 bandsters post. You will find a whole post on nothing but people banded this month. It is so great to have a group of people who are at the exact same stage you are. Good luck!
