Trust me' date=' I feel like a fatty eating so much more than everyone else here...

...until I remember that my journey is my own. What works for ME is what matters (along with my awesome doc's advice!). Good luck!![/quote']

I have found that I lose more when I eat around 1,000 calories. I was not given a calorie range and a really low Protein range (50-60 grams). The protein range seems extremely low to me so I don't worry too much when I exceed it.

Wow I was sleeved on 6/24 and I'm down 47 lbs I'm 231 now. But some days I feel like I'm just fat as hell and other days I don't. I know I've lost the weight but others see it so well. Get compliments all day long. I just need help with getting in my Protein and my Water which I started to love before and after surgery now Im sick of it. Need new shake recipes. But Congrats on your success.

I was sleeved on 6/24 as well and down 49 lbs. Sounds like we 3 are in the same boat! Cheers to us! I'm at 237 as of yesterday. I still have energy issues & it sucks to eat. I do Protein Shakes for Breakfast and a Quest bar for lunch a modified dinner with hubby & son.

No , I don't do shots but the kind that dissolves. Maybe I should ask my primary doctor? I feel it's holding me back from excersiing. I get dizzy & see stars & feel faint. I even eat Protein before. Do u think the shots would be better? Do u do the shots yourself or does the doctor?

That is awesome you have lost 47 lbs . I completely agree I feel the same way some says and at times realize that unless you have gone through or are going through this journey you can not know what we go through with the "new me" I use the Internet for different shake ideas it really does make a difference since I can't seem to tolerate a lot of food but I'm working on it

I do the B-Complex with B-12. You can get it at Wal-Mart. You put it under your tongue for 30 seconds, but it is liquid instead of a tablet and it gives me a boost as well. My NUT told me to do that instead of B-12 dots because that is the B-Comples and B-12 all in one. Not sure if they have you taking a B-Complex or not, though.

Yes absolutely. I noticed a big difference in 2 days after I got my first shot. My surgery date was 6/11/13 and I just got my second shot. I am all kinds of active. HW 260 SW 248 CW 197. Lost 31 lbs in first 15 days after surgery. was weak as hell now I feel great. The shots only cost me 37$ for a 10 month supply. That is without insurance. Hope this helps

Is this something you had to inject yourself? If so, where on your body ? That scares me! Thanks for your help!

Hi guys. August 10th was three month mark. So here I go with the stats:

When I decided to have surgery my weight was 289

Surgery day 275 down 14 lbs

end of June weight 253 that made 22 pounds in a few weeks

end of July weight was 244 down another 9 lbs

end of August weight 234 down another 10 lbs

September 10 weight was 229 that means I am down another 5 lbs.

Total down from surgery is 46 lbs and total weight loss is 60 lbs.

I am now 5 lbs from my half way goal. YEAH!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
