protein shakes make me gag. HELP!

I am 4 days post op and I cant stomach the protein shakes anymore. I`ve tried several different flavors and brands and spent over 200.00 bucks trying to find something I can tolerate but havent no luck. I manage thru the 2 weeks liquid protein diet prior to surgery but I can not stomach it anymore. The smell of the protein powder makes me gag!! I know how important it is to get my protein in but I feel like its hopeless amd need HELP please!!!

I had the same problem!!! I did however drink carnation sugar free vanilla my doctor suggested. And I can add my vanilla protein powder to cold coffee, milk, ice, and a sprinkle pumpkin pie spice. I also like Atkins cafe Carmel. Good luck. These have been the hardest part other than vitamins. Can't stand them post op. Make me vomit also

I've tried a bunch at first I did one Premier Protein RTD Chocolate and one Isopure, I'm struggling with Isopure these days and just actually asked if I could dilute it! Maybe try a few more kinds. I still find those Premier ready to drink feel best on my sleeve and don't have a nasty taste!

I do not have difficulty getting fluids/protein supplements down 5 weeks post op. For those that do, there is new product recently out there. At walgreens there is probalance protein shot XL... It contains 28 grams of protein in 3 oz, which is nearly unheard of... This may benefit those who can only get small amounts . You can also goigle search item and find it.

I understand it to Bethe way the protein will break down and absorbs in your system. There is alot more to it but can't remember every thing. Designer whey and champion make very tasty

I tried a new thing today. I did 1 cup milk, 1 scoop unjury vanilla protein powder, 1 tsp vanilla flavoring, and 2 tbsp great value natural pb. Used a handful of ice and blended. Tastes like pb shake. Can def do this!!! And was surprised how little sugar was in pb. Less than in my premixed shakes.
