Hello everyone.I know it has been a long while since i have posted but l am glad to be back and with excitng news. I DID IT !!!!!! l had my LAGB done here in South Africa by a splendid Dr on the 8th of march and am glad to report minimal pain since surgery and for the first time in my life have almost zero appetite. Is this normal? l also seem to have a perpetual feeling of fullness and only take clear liquids stuff as an after thought. Weight on day of surgery was 111.2kg. Will make the little tracking thingmagicki when l have time and might need my son to do coz l am a little technologically challenged. Otherwise thanks to all for the inspiration. l love this board.

Welcome back, and congrats on the band. We had another member here in Africa, she was banded in the states. If you search the word Africa I am sure you will find her. To answer your questions, yes the loss of appetite is normal. With some people that returns, others it never really does. It is mostly swelling right now, as the swelling goes away the hunger may return. I am 19 months post-op and still forget to eat sometimes all day. I think I have been really hunger only a handful of times since banding. Make sure you get in plenty of liquids, you MUST stay hydrated to stay healthy. ~Mandy

thank Mandy. that helps a lot. i am loving that feeling of fullness though.

The member that I was trying to think of is Road Queen, she moved to africa last year. ~Mandy

Tried searching earlier with no luck. l hope she comes across this and joins in. It wud be nice to hear of her experiences and where she is at. l am in Pretoria, South Africa.

Can anyone walk me thru insering a ticker? Please?

Click on anyones ticker, it will take you to the ticker site. Build the ticker of your choice and it will give you several codes. Choose the one for v.buliten. Copy and paste that code into your signature. (in the user CP, top left of the page). If you need more help than that let me know. ~Mandy

Thiyekhile,

I finally have internet and am at the board again. Thanks Mandy for letting me know about this thread. Who is your doctor in Pretoria? Can you ask if he is willing to do a floro on someone he didn't operate on?

I am having bad acid reflux and may need some fill taken outl. Right now, I am in Sana'a Yemen and the altitude and dry air is killing me.

Congratulations on having surgery. Its the best thing I ever did for me.

I live in Lilongwe, Malawi but get through J'burg for flights and when I go to Cape Town to enjoy. Email me or pm me. Celeste

Thanks Mandy. I finally got it. Not as bad as i thought myself to be. Your tutorial was quite easy to follow. Thanks again.

Road Queen,

Congrats on your weight loss. Have sent you an email with the Dr's ctc details. Good luck.

Glad I could help. When you want to update it just do the same, but remove the current signature before pasting the new one. ~Mandy

Thiyekhile, how is everything going? I am going to try and contract your dr in the morning. Does he do fills? I need some of my fill taken out. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Celeste

I had told him about you the last time l was in for a fill. Am sure he wud be of help. Nothing much going for me. am scheduled for another fill on the July 30th but have not had much joy with my loss so far. Have come to terms with the fact that l am a very, very slow loser but this feels like it is too much compared to others. Can't even describe what is going on with me but l have lost a miserable 17 lbs. Cant say really that l have been at my best "behaviour" eating habits wise but still l feel like I shud have done better and it is that feeling like a failure that gets me back to eating wrong. Had very good restriction after my second fill of June 4th but only for 3 weeks and suddenly l felt different. It was not like all gone but just not the same. I could eat however much l wanted and had to remind myself to stop. is that how the fills shud be- like relax a little afterwards? Wud rather be as tight as l was in the beggining if that was the case. No discomfort though and have notified the Dr who said nothing to worry about he wud check if the fluid is intact at my next appt. Please can someone tell me l am not overeacting!! Had even stopped posting on the board but wud check in to see the progress of others an just droooool.
