Humble Kingwood Atascocita Huffman Cypresswood

Come join us. We are bandsters without a local support group, and we're going to meet, say hi, and chat about possibly starting our own group.

We are meeting this Wednesday December 13 at 6:30 PM at Humble City Cafe near the SE corner of the intersection of 1960 and 59, on Main Street.

Let me know if you're coming and I'll make a reservation in the name of Bandsters.

OK guys I'm open to another night. I'm not as keen on sat/sun as I like to play golf or other things. Also, we haven't given everyone enough time to see this so let's skip this week. I'm open so give some suggestions.

I know it is hard to get a time that is right for everyone. If you decide to meet during the week I would love to come. Work every weekend so that would be out for me. Just let me know when and where.

We're off on a 4 day cruise on Thursday so let's meet Wednesday of labor day week. That will be Sept 3rd. Lets meet at Panera's on 1960 at 6:00 pm. There is a large table in the back near the side door. It's a good place to meet. Let's see how many we can get out and start our support of each other.

My 4 day cruise turned into 6 as we were stuck in the gulf for a hurricane that didn't come near Galveston. We didn't get back until yesterday. Sorry for missing dinner at Panera's. Its been a tough few days. I haven't been able to eat and very little liquids. I'll tell you about this side effect when we see each other. I am a little different than some, but like many. I have a very sensitive esphogus.

Let me know if you want me to set up another dinner. Again sorry for those that showed up.

Did anybody go to dinner???? I just found out I'm no longer getting automatic emails when someone writes on this thread, so I missed knowing about the dinner. Anybody up for another meeting time soon?

I hope no one showed up. I'm not getting notification either. Every now and then I get an email, but not very often. I'm up to getting together again. Should we try next Wednesday at 6:30? We could try Panera's again.

I have tickets to the Taste of Home chocolate festival Mon/Tuesday. I'm now working longer days so I can have off every other Friday so 6:30 is a better time for me so I can be sure I can get there.

Hello,My name is Leah and I live in the Kingwood area and I had my lapband surg.on July 29th.I have no support group nor anyone that I can share this with.I was wondering if I could join your group and maybe meet with you guys the next time you do?

Hi Leah and welcome. We are going to meet at Panera's on Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Panera's is located on 1960E near W. Lake Houston and Timber Forest. It is in front of the Palais Royal store.

There are several new people inquiring about our group so let's make it happen. A support group can really help when you are going through this. Look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday.

Count me in for Wednesday as well. Love Panera!!! Not yet banded but it is looming in my future, as soon as we get the Insurance thumbs up. I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Leah and I met at Panera's. Sorry to have missed the rest of you. If there is interest we will try to keep the group active and get more involved. We will try again in 2 weeks to set a dinner meeting. In the meantime be safe and prepared for the Hurricane.

Hey Barbara, my old Tai Chi buddy! You'll get a kick out of this. I just started Tai Chi and ChiGong at MD Anderson, and the guy who teaches it is everything I wanted in an instructor! First of all, there's no dress code!!!!!!!

People come in whatever attire they want, and he does the full deal, with everyone just following along as best they can. Then after, he answers questions about theory, how to do things, philosophy behind it, or whatever, so you can leave after an hour, or stay for up to another 2 hours (!) to chat. And his explanations are super clear! And it's all free for whoever shows up, Tues and Thurs afternoons.

I started it because I'm in a bit of a pain struggle at the moment. In addition to my patches, I usually take pills every 3-4 hours, but after the last class, I went 12 hours without the need to pop a pill.

Works for me.

Hope you guys are all doing well. Would love to see you if your next meeting is at a time when I can do it. It's sure hard to hold a group together! With all the lap bands being done, would seem like we'd be able to fill a room! Guess support groups just don't often work that way....

Looks like we are disbanded. Well, my friends, it was fun and great support while it lasted. Guess we all start to fade when the band no longer holds any surprises for us. My best to all of you. If anyone wants to reach me, go to www.GoldenRetrieverCamp.com Have a good life!
