Hola from TJ 3 days post op with Dr Kelly pics

Recommended Posts

Thanks so much for posting, gibsons girl. I've recently decided to change surgeons...from Valenzuela to Kelly. Although I will be at nova hospital. You have made me confident that I made a good decision! Glad to read about how well you have been doing, and how quickly! I hope I will be able to say the same. My date is September 10th! I have a 3 year old and a 8 mo that old that need their mommy to heal quickly :). Thanks again!

I'm down almost 60lbs already!

I've heard Nova hospital is very nice and although florence was definitely adequate and nice this should be a change for the better.

Dr Kelly still keeps in touch, and I have Lora anytime I need any nutritional advice ect. It's a great experience. My friend had hers 4 weeks after mine by Dr Kelly and it has been a great road for her too.

It was a challenge healing with my almost 3 year old. Do you have help?

My mom will be staying with me for a while after, so she'll be a great help. Do you know how long it is before we're able to lift again? I'm thinking that lifting my baby in and out of her crib for her nightly bottle will be a no-no...

That's where I'm having some guilt about this whole thing. It's like my whole family are going to have to make sacrifices so I can get this surgery. My hubby will have to take time off work to take care of the kids while I'm gone. I'm dragging my 62 year old mother, who never travels btw, to Mexico with me. Then when I get back, I'll be useless to my kids until I heal and therefore putting a bigger burden on my husband and mother...

Yikes, sorry about that rant. I guess I needed to get that off my chest lol.

Bailey, keep in mind that you are making sacrifices, too! You're sacrificing your relationship with food. You're sacrificing more than half of a major organ! But you're doing it for the greater benefit to your health and your family's well-being. Yeah, it might be a little inconvenient for a few days or weeks, but when you're fully recovered and making progress to your goal, just think how much more energy you'll have for your kiddos and how many extra years you'll be around to make memories with your husband, your children (and someday, grandkids)!

Don't feel guilty for doing something amazing and important. ^_^

Thank you, that made me a little emotional. You are so right and deep down I know that already but it's certainly nice to be reminded!

Bailey, I drug my 65 yo mother to Mexico and she loved it. Your kids need you to be at a healthy weight so that you can live a great energetic life.

It's 6 weeks before you can lift them. It may seem like forever but it goes fast and it is well worth it! I already have more energy to take care of them :)

I have not had my surgery yet' date=' but cant believe I am reading, after 3 days from surgery, you say you are Excited!! That really encourages me![/quote']

Hey Livewire! I had surgery Monday and I'm staying at my moms for now. I wish I wouldn't had been so worried cuz it's been a piece of cake! Idid get sick once & that was cuz I drank and didn't sip my Water. I did use the morphine pump and other meds they fave me for swelling. I have NO regrets!!! I got up a lot and did lots of walking and it does help. Another thing was I kept the heating pad either ony back or tummy and chest to help with gas pains. I did not need to use my gas -x strips. I think the heating pad was the big help. Hope this helps you! Stay strong sister! !!

What a difference 2 months 1 week can make. Over 60lbs gone, I even had the confidence to change my hair!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
