Who wants to play? Approved or Denied - Aetna

Recommended Posts

37 year old female, 255 pounds, 5' 10", 37ish BMI

over 35 BMI for at least the last 8 years

3 letters written for medical necessity - surgeon, PCP, back specialist

1 personal letter from myself

Documented Conditions (comorbids but not "technically according to Aetna) - depression, chronic Migraine syndrome, metabolic syndrome, high triglycerides, prediabetes, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, joint pain

Just trying to take the lightheartered approach since its now out of my hands, lol.

Submitted April 11th and I confirmed Aetna has the file. They have up to 15 days.

Any bets or Approval/Denial and when... kind of like the baby due date/sex game :D

Sadly I say denied too. I've done the Aetna game as well. They are a real stickler on their weight requirements and co morbids.

I was denied twice so far. I have asked Lindstrom Obesity to assist. Hoping it will be approved. If not..self pay. Good luck. Don't lose hope..seems Aetna approves a lot of people without denial...but if you look, they deny a lot too,

When you submitted all of your doctors and your personal letters, did you collect them all from each doctor and send them in one packet? Or did each doctor submit them personally??

I'm going to have to do this as well through United.

I was denied for my band to sleeve revision twice by Aetna last year. I met all of their criteria listed in our revision policy at my employer, but they still denied me. After about 4 months, I finally reached the 40 BMI threshold again, and they approved me on 2nd appeal. But I did have surgery finally, 12/29/12.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
