  1. My conditions included: depression, pre diabetes, spinal stenosis and chronic migraines. BMI was around 37 when approved but I was initially denied. It took a peer review to get approved. Good Luck!!!

  4. I also only drink water and an occasional glass of hot green tea with lemon.
  5. I was sleeved 5/28 and my typical day looks like this: Wake up: Protein shake - 30g protein, 200 calories Mid morning: 1 scrambled egg or 1 nutria rain low fat waffle w/sf syrup - 7g protein, 70 calories Lunch: broc cheese soup with added unflavored protein or WW chicken ranchero wrap (sooooi good!!!)- 12g protein, 100 calories Snack: protein shake or Protein Bar - 30g protein, 200 calories dinner - small portion of whatever we are having...usually marinated chicken but I was able to eat some tortellini last night- ?? Protein, 200 calories Will add a cheese stick or incorporate unflavored protein if I need more protein and around 800 calories.
  6. I'm 5 weeks post op and back on regular foods. This just feels like my new normal... NOT a diet! I eat way, way, way less but I eat so slow, I'm able to savor every bite. I'm completely satisfied. I love this!!!
  7. I keep seeing threads on hair loss and I know it is to be expected. Just curious how it compared to hair loss after having a baby. Thx!!
  8. Just wondering when you incorporated protein bars? I can start regular foods this week but I'm not sure when my stomach will be able to handle a protein bar. Just curious what others have experienced. Thx!!
  9. I'm allowed to start regular foods next week and I'm so nervous!! Can anyone recommend some starter foods that they have tolerated well? Foods that didn't sit well? I will be 4 week post op at that time.
  10. I'm on my second week of the soft food stage and going to a picnic today. Just curious if feta would be considered soft or regular food? My MIL always makes a Greek salad and I'm wondering if I can have some of the cheese. My examples don't list it specifically so I'm just curious. Thx!!!
  11. Sleeved 5/28 and I have not deviated from my doctors instructions at all. Honestly I am petrified to...don't want to mess anything up. It helps that I dont have any cravings or hunger. I did cheat pre-op though.
  12. Anyone else dealt with fear transitioning to the next food phase post op? I have had no problem with the liquid phase and really don't desire anything more at this point. I'm allowed to start soft foods tomorrow but I find myself really nervous about it. With the liquid phase I haven't really felt the restriction yet but I have measured everything to make sure I don't overdo it. Maybe it's fear of the unknown? Maybe fear of failure? I don't know...just curious if anyone can relate?
  13. Surgery 5/28 Start Weight 270 Surgery Weight 259 (2 week preop) Current Weight 252 18 pounds in 3 weeks total ETA - I'm 5'10"
  14. Sleeved 9 days ago....still having some pain sitting & standing but I have 2 little ones. Yesterday felt pretty good but this morning I am having really bad "pulling" type pains under my largest incision...figure that's probably normal as things are healing. But I just looked and under the pain about an inch is a bruise (1" big). Just wondering if anyone else experienced external bruising?
  15. I actually use my mini blender to blend the thicker soups and and add some milk or water to get it to a fine consistency...works great!!!
