My doctor initially told me that the insurance probably wont cover a revision until after I complete a 6 month supervised diet. I was shocked when it was approved in less than 24 hours! My doctors office sent the paperwork over at 4pm yesterday and I received a call today at 11 am saying it was approved! I'm scheduled to get the sleeve on 4/16.
Background: I had the band put in July 2011, it slipped in July 2012 (stayed unfilled until January 2013)and slipped again in March 2013. My BMI is 36, I have mild sleep apnea and have gained 15 pounds since original surgery. I had all my documents from my July 2011 surgery so idk if this helped approve this or not.
My officemate had her lapband slip and had a revision to bypass in January so I think it's awesome I have someone to share this journey with!
