Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

Recommended Posts

Julie,

Congrats, that is great news about your insurance finally coming through. You must be excited. I'm sorry about the co-pay, though. However, as I have often said about paying 10k for my band - it was about the same as buying a cheap car, but the best investment ever.

Guess I'm buying a bit more expensive car ;) Mainly upset with the having to pay since as you know, this has become more of a medical issue with me due to the damage done by the band. Ah, well... guess ya gotta do what ya gotta do

I"m still up for any of those dates - let's see if any of our buds respond here, otherwise we can bug them on facebook!

Have a great day.

Sounds like a plan. Sent a PM to Mim (remember her?) asking her if any of your dates works for her

p.s. I got to goal last week! ;)

Yayyyyyyy... I'm so proud of you, and so happy for you!!!!

Sunday 11/13

Saturday 11/19

Sunday 11/20

I think after that we'll all be busy with holiday stuff...

Where do you meet? I may be able to make the 19th?

We meet at the Red Robin at Arapahoe and I-25.

Snowgator and Julie, I need to check my schedule at work tonight. I'm in the middle of moving, so I'm insanely busy!

I'd love to meet up with everyone. I saw Rene and Theresa at the retirement party - along with John and it was so nice!

Rene looks super beautiful! Theresa is so looking really good! We enjoyed a really nice visit AND we ate some cake too!

I know, naughty! BUT so good!

I always said, "I didn't get this band to diet the rest of my life!" Dan, you will be able to eat, just less and better choices! I am a new person today!

I love the Band! Love it! It saved my life!

I'll try to post tonight or tomorrow with dates that I can meet you all!

Heard from Mim. She says she can probably make Dec 3 or 4. I'm open any day, so we'll just have to see who can make it when and let majority rule.

Kinda excited. Most likely going to get my bypass surgery date next Thursday!!! It's been a long painful year and I am soooo happy to finally be moving forward!!! :bananajump:

Dan,

Looking forward to meeting you! By then you'll be on Clear liquids still, or maybe some thin Soups. No worries, Red Robin has always been very accomodating to our special menu requests. They can puree some Soup for you, or you can have iced tea or apple juice. See you soon!

Try not to worry about the surgery, I saw your post and think we all felt the same way. Trust me, it all works out, and your only wish will be that you had done it years ago.

She is quite right, they are very accomodating there. They are always willing to puree some soup for us.

The more the merrier! No worries, no need for a firm RSVP. We usually sit on a bench right at the entrance for a few minutes to gather our group together. But do let us know if you decide in advance that you are coming so we get a table with enough seats for any latecomers.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
