I am trying with the ticker...so please everyone, no laughing!!!

Brandy, I love the ticker, it's fun to play with it, isn't it? Have fun at your games today. We have a football game, Sammi is cheering. Than we Rach has to get ready for homecoming. I'll post pictures of her and her date later.

friends I'm going to be away for awhile. Best to all.

Lap, I am sending positive thoughts your way, please know how much we all care for you and how we cherish your imput. If you need anything at all we are here for you. Heal yourself and the rest will fall into place. We have all been in your shoes. Yesterday I was having the worst day, and normally I would hold that in and not talk about it, but I actually talked to hubby and let him know how I was feeling and talking it out really helped. Loves to you and here is a great BIG HUG!!!!

It's funny I really thought that losing all this weight would magically make me happy, well sorry that is not the case. I was really down yesterday, fighting with hubby, stress at work and with volleyball parents (hey, I don't even get paid for that job). Anywho, I talked to hubby and it really helped to talk stuff out and have him listen and confirm my feelings. I am working go getting to a better place within myself and make me happy.:)

You know Denise, I think in our "formerly fat" heads, we think that our moods have to be related to our weight. It's a good excuse for us. But sometimes, life sucks and we react to it. We are entitled to be sad during the hard times and we are also entitled to be angry when the time warrants it. The angry part is the hard part for me. I have learned since being banded that I am an "angry eater" -- I don't eat when I'm sad or depressed, I eat when I'm angry, because damit, I was taught that nice girls don't express their anger. So I spent my life - stuffing it! (or as evidence shows - stuffing my mouth!)

You're blessed to have a hubby who will talk things out with you. And he's blessed to have you in his life. You're a good wife and a good Mom and a wonderful person. Thanks for giving of your time to share you weight loss journey with all of us.

I was raised in Nebraska (Norfolk) my siblings still all live there. In fact I just came back from visiting my sister in Lincoln, it was humid, kinda reminds me why I don't still live there. I've been here in Colorado for 27 years.

I return to Lincoln every April for Alumni Weekend at Union College. I've considered returning to school there. UNO and UC both have excellent PA programs. Now that I've been through the WLS process, I'd love to be a Bariatric PA or NP. I only have one chem class left before I can apply to the MS program.

April is kind of a fickle month, you never know what your gonna get, it could be beautiful or end up in a huge blizzard. I think that you would make a great PA or NP. Good luck!

I feel like I've been "lurking" like Mal said the other day. I get caught up with the reading then have to go do something else!

Let me tell you though I lost 2 lbs this week! I am so happy to see the scale moving.

Adork - you will get back with it soon - thanks for being so honest and up front with it. I sure find myself in the same place.

I just have one thing to add to the brief discussion about follow up with Dr. K. I love, love, love Dr K and his staff but the after care isn't there for any of us whether we live in Denver or not. He or Natalie get back with me right away when I have a question so there isn't a problem there. But what about the questions we don't even know to ask? I think a packet of information would be an excellent idea. It wouldn't have to be fancy but just a booklet of things to know what to expect and look for over the 1st year. Fill Centers have a follow up packet (the one in Missouri does at least) and I was able to look through it. Since I didn't go with them I couldn't get the book but it was very helpful. Please don't think I am upset with Dr. K or regret my choice of surgeon. I LOVE my band and the treatment I have received. If it weren't for all of you on this site and your generous help to me I don't think I would have been very successful this far.

Lap - you have made the right choice. Your back situation is very difficult to manage. It takes all your attention and focus. I'm praying for you.

Welcome all you newbies and soon to be banded. You have made a great choice in Dr K and this website. I think the first item on a follow up packet would be this thread's web address ;-}.

Oh yes - one more thing before you toss me off this thread. I graduated from THE University of Oklahoma. The University of Nebraska isn't exactly on the top of my favorites. However, I'm feeling a little more friendly about it since I know 2 such great fans. Sorry for all of you who aren't college sports fans. Boomer Sooner!

Your hubby sounds sweet...me and mine have been fighting tooth and nail lately. Maybe the weather???

Sidann, That's very BIG of you (absolutely no pun intended) to accept all of us Husker Fans! Brandy, Magaines and Me! I appreciate it! In turn, I will accept that fact that you're a Sooner!

Sooners were our Biggest Rival when I went to school there!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
