Skyeblu -- I'm going to the fill doc in Denver, NC (Denver, NC..Denver, CO -- coincidence? I think not) -- the Dr. uses the hospital's fluroscopy. The follow up doc that I had selected prior to surgery (at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem) insisted that I have an EGD done to check band placement prior to starting my aftercare to the tune of about $3k, even after I told him that I have no lap band-related coverage. Geeze! He wanted to check on the band's placement, even after Dr. K sent his operative notes and sent him a letter of referral! I told him for that $ I can travel back to CO to my surgeon many times. Geeze again! :o So, I've changed my plans and I'm going to the NC fill center doc. Are you still traveling to GA for fills?

Karen

Hi Karen, I am still going to GA for fills. I am planning on going back the 1st weekend in November.

LOL, I thought the Denver, NC was ironic too!! Your right, it probably isn't a coincidence. I called Fillcentersusa about the Denver, NC location and really couldn't give me much info. And from what I remember the amount for the fluro could cover my hotel and gas.

Have you already been or will this be your first fill? I am so comfortable going to the doc in GA I am kind of scared to try someone new. Let me know how your experience was/or will be. This will be my 3rd fill, if this one doesn't do the trick I may have to go to Denver (NC).

I had to do an upper GI to go to my first aftercare doc. I only had to pay my copay though. Do you have any insurance that will cover it? That is a huge amount to pay.

Dee, I am so excited that you got your date. and so soon!!!! You have a great journey ahead of you.

Ok Lapdancer, where are you????

Hey, Mal, whats this scheduling something else on Monday, Red Robin won't be the same without you.

I haven't heard any details if we are meeting on Monday and what time. Want2be are you in charge?

You know dynamo just because you are leaving Tues doesn't mean you can't come Monday. We promise to get you home early.

I am still pretty tight from my second fill. Water and liquids go down fine, so I am OK. Just feel the tightness more than I have before. It should start the weight loss again.

Have a good Saturday

Marilyn

Tied2BFit - Dee CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Yeah a date!

I hope he will do it at your hospital, so you are surrounded by your friends.

I think Monday eve is a long shot for me, unless I get really organized. I have had really full days teaching religious school both Saturday and Sunday and seeing my mom both days, really eats up my time. I also am commited to working out at least 45 minutes each day until I leave. And have a long list, of stuff to do. If I can free up any time I will run over to say hi, for a short time.

Hugs to all,

Michelle

If I got any of this wrong, let me know! I feel like the blind leading the blind, being a newbie and all to this!

Also, if you want to call me, PM and we can exchange cells. I am heading to Co. Springs later today and Denver tomorrow and I will check my emails and such.

I hope everyone is well...there are so many individual congratulations to give, but I have been super-duper crazy busy..my mom just had surgery and I have been able to be her nurse, and have been away from the computer more than usual...

Hey friends!

Have fun at RR! I will be thinking of you.

..........................................

I've been busy with my work. Really busy. Haven't had much down time but wanted to share that I got two books off Amazon : Twenty Four Hours a Day and food for Thought. Both are OA books

.............................................

Looking forward to Colorado. Will be there in just about 3 weeks.

........................................

Meditations:

Take a blessing with you wherever you go. You have been blessed so bless others. Such stores of blessings are awaiting you in the months and years that lie ahead. Pass on your blessings. Blessing can and does go around the world. Passed on from one person to another. Shed a little blessing in the heart of one person. That person is cheered to pass it on, and so God's vitalizing, joy-giving message travels on. Be a transmitter of blessings.

*May your blessings flow into the lives of others*

Good morning, Gals!

Well, let me start out with saying thanks for all the well wishes and "miss yous". I forgot how busy you get when you work and run a house. Holy Cow! I miss you all too. I can't make it tonight either. Rats. Besides the kids and me getting sick, I have Cub Scouts to try and do tonight and Chris is in Tennessee on business....and the Cubbies pop corn sale forms need to be in today, hafta find a sitter for the kids cuz he can't go to his meeting tonight and the gramma that I thought could do it for an hour tonight just told me her nephew just passed away (he's been very ill, it's a blessing) and, and, and....well, now you see why I haven't been on the board very much.

Thanks for asking about my new job, All! I'm not sure how long I'll be there. I am able to do the work but I'm so overqualified for it, it's sort of making me nuts and its only been three days. I was a Supervisor for so long, I was already trying to get the person who was training me to do her job correctly. God Zooks, I wonder what they are saying about me over there! Oh well. Think I'll call my ED over at my old facility and see if he can get me on with the company I worked with so long in AZ. I'm hoping that being a big corporation they run this one similarly to what I am familiar with.

Plus, I'm a rather social person (I talk a lot:D) and I'm a few years older than the other people in the kitchen. On break these women were talking about the foulest topics. When did people start thinking that discussing stuff that only belongs in an adult shop was okay? It really made me feel old and out of touch, but I just don't think I can work well with people that are so dirty. (And I'm definatly not a prude, by any means, but maybe by todays standards I am????) In any event, the whole thing made me very uncomfortable. And they blast Rap and Hip Hop music in the kitchen...oh gawd. 5 minutes of that makes me want to kill something and I made it through an 8 hour shift. I figure I'll hang out there for the money (the actual work is very easy) but continue to look for something that better suits me. This aint it. (At all!:omg:)

Now you all are updated, and also, thanks for listening. You guys are my good friends now and it's nice to share with you all.:)

The positive side is we only get 10 minutes to scarf whatever is left after meal service, and you know what? I can't eat in that short of time. (man oh man I used to be able to put away a bit of food during that!) So my clothes are fitting better after only a week! I'm going to hafta start taking a Protein Shake cuz I just can't get any Protein down when I'm working. I need a shaker bottle to take my powder in and just use their milk and shake 'er up.

Well, sorry so long. I'm really going to miss tonight too.:think Please try and post some pics...I'll be missing you and thinking of you. Do we have a date for next month, cuz I will definately get it off. Have a great day!

Woofay - Wow, you are really on the treadmill of life, and it doesn't sound like it is going anywhere, but you are slimming down by default. I'd take it.

Mal - sorry I won't be there tonight. I have too many loose ends and my son is coming up from college to see me before I leave. I am gathering things to wear and stuff. I have so many sizes and nothing quite goes together.

My weight loss has stalled, but i am sabotaging things by eating extra stuff at night. I am great all day, but really struggle in the evening hours. Like putting myself to bed with a bowl of Cereal at 11:00 pm. I'd rather have a "honey" to go to bed with, but, now we are all in Woofay's kitchen.

My friend whom I am traveling with, is bringing her computer so I may be able to keep in touch down in Mexico. I'll wriggle my toes in the sand for all of you.

Be well,

Michelle

Woofay~it waw nice to hear from you! Sorry the job isin't a good fit. My husband always says "I was looking for a job when I found this one."...I guess that means that there are jobs out there to be found and if it doesn't fit, try another. Being happy with your career is so important. Find one that makes you happy and you will be successful! I hope your comapany from Arizona has a spot for you out here, that would be nice.

Tied2b~that is great that you will be able to have your band done at Parker with your support group being there. I am happy for you.

Dynamo~have a great trip and you know...behave and stay out of trouble! Yesss, find yourself a Cabana boy...ARRRRIBAH!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
