Anyone know any holistic cancer treatments??

I have a friend who's mom has been diagnosed (again) with cancer. She has been fighting it for the past 10ish years. She has been in remission for several years on and off and now has spots on her skin that are cancerous and spots on her liver. She has decided after 7 years of being on chemo on and off that she is done with it. She would rather have a great year and not be sick all the time that 3 more years of misery from the chemo. Does anyone know of any herbs or natural methods that might help make her more comfortable? I know there is a holistic doc around here somewhere on LBT.... hopefully she see's this!

Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me!

Peace.

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom's friend. Do a search on the Gerson clinic. I personally know several people who have been in long term remission after following their protocol.

Skin Cancer is usually treatable. Liver Cancer is usually not, but it's not one of the horrifically painful types of Cancer, either. It often creates an uncomfortable condition called asides, which is a large collection of Fluid in the abdomen - like 40 pounds of fluid. This can be drained off, but it comes back pretty quickly.

You can't live without a liver, so when it gets really sick from the Cancer, the body's systems begin to shut down, one after the other. At the end the patient goes into a coma.

I would contact Hospice. They are dedicated to end-of-life comfort, rather than treatment. You don't have to be at death's door to participate in Hospice.

Be there for your friend. Be a strong arm to lean on, and a soft shoulder to cry on. She will need you more now than she ever has.

marijuana they say makes cancer patients very comfortable. Melissa Etheridge swore by it. I know she's now in remission. I wish my mom had done that but she was VERY against illegal drugs.

I know the cancer center of america in Chicago is very into holistic treatment.

I have heard that, too. But I don't think getting arrested would be a good thing for someone dealing with Cancer. Come to think of it....I don't think getting arrested would be a good thing for ANYONE. I'm all for avoiding the jailhouse, myself.

Here in CO medical marijuana is legal. My hubby has a friend who's wife has cancer and he has a card he carries in his wallet that says he can legally possess up to 3 ounces of pot. There are definite benefits to marijuana!

Angela.... Thank you SO MUCH for responding! I don't know all the details of her condition but I am going to pass along your post to my friend. I hope that's okay if she emails you. I actually just set her up with my mom's massage therapist who also does Reiki and a bunch of other stuff. I had Reiki when I had my tonsils out and it was AMAZING!

Dr. Thomas E. Levy, MD, JD, wrote Curing the Incurable: Vitamin C, Infectious Diseases, and Toxins and is a board certified cardiologist. For cancer patients, he advises 6,000 to 9,000 mg of Vitamin C a day. Also, there is a prescribed drug call marinol that is a derived from marijuana that helps many patients.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
