1 year ago today my band was removed due to erosion

It has been 1 year today since my band was removed due to erosion. I am happy to say that after one year of being bandless I have maintained my 100+ lb weight loss. I still fit in my size 10-12's . It has been a struggle I can not lie but I am determined to never go back to where I was before my band. My band did it's job.It The rest is now up to me. My head is going in the right dierection. I was fortunate to have such great success with my band . This board has given me wonderful support throughout my entire banded and unbanded journey. I am trying to still lose a few more pounds but if I dont I am happy as long as the scale is not going in the wrong direction. My PCP told me that if I can keep my weight off for an entire year my success rate of keeping it off for good is high. Iam very proud of myself. Thanks everyone for all of your support!

La_Madam, you truly are an inspiration. When my band slipped, I piled the weight back on. You've gone a year now without your band and managed to find the willpower to maintain. I don't know that I could have done it.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Congratulations, Michelle!

Your story inspires me to continue to do the "head work" I know has to e done for this to be truly successful. Thank you for all your wisdom and guidance!

Wow how terrified you must have been a year ago!

How excited and happy you must be now.

I am very very proud of you! You are the hope for all of us! We all have that fear of what if someday..and look at you!

Thank You!

That really is amazing. Maintaining my weight loss with the band conerns me. It is truly inspiring to see you do it for over a year without it!!!

If I may ask... What signs did do have that your band was eroding? I have been experiencing upper stomach pain for the past few days, and while I am trying to convince myself it is just a stomach bug trying to break through, I can't help but worry about erosion or some other band related problem.

Thanks and Way to go!!!!!!

Hi Michele,

Congratulations on your sustained weight loss. I had no problems packing on 38 pounds during my band problems, so I cant even imagine what it would be like to maintain since I have not been able to do this. I lost about 20-22 lbs of the weight I gained, but I am still struggling to keep it off. Kudos to you !!!

It looks like you have a lot of fans.

lol

Me included. You have done a wonderful job. Outstanding!!!!!!!!

Wonderful news, just wonderful! 100lb weight loss and still keeping it off, that is a truly a success!

We're all so proud of you! To us who haven't been banded yet it gives us hope that even if things don't go "perfectly" we can still achieve the goal, which is long term weight loss.

La Madam, that is so great! You are an inspiration!! Thanks so much for being here to support people with AND without the band.

What exactly is erosion and what causes it? I was banded 7months ago and am having some pain around my band.

Karen

Congratulations La Madam! What an accomplishment!!

So incredibly happy for you and thanks for keeping everyone posted. even tho i am disapointed in what the band has done for me in the area of weight loss i am seriously grateful for what it has shown me and i know i am not yet where you are - my head issues were and are so much stronger then i ever imagined. without the band at this point i would probably still revert to old ways - i'm trying and to know others have succeeded in beating those demons helps. thanks
