Help building a WARNING - Worst Slider Foods List

Recommended Posts

Oh' date=' blooming oinion!!!! I have been thinking about one of those for months now. How bad could it be? It's just an onion. Vegetable... Kidding. That would send me right over the edge! I believe in moderation, but I also believe there are some things I couldn't handle. Sad, really...[/quote']

Once a year. That is all I can handle. I had maybe one sixth of it. It slid down way to easily.

Fro yo, which I love. I can eat so much of it that I end up not feeling good from all the sugar (sweaty, increased heart rate, shaky).

I also eat way more trail mix than I should. I thought it would fill me up but I can eat a few handfuls if it with no feeling of restriction.

Oh dear lordy, the stupid flippin baked Cheetos need to be banned from the stores so I can't even think of buying them. Oh and Peter Pan honey creamy Peanut Butter ... yeah, that needs to go too. I don't know what it is about these two items - I didn't care much for them pre-op but post-op? Stupid trigger food!

I feel bad for the poor reader who gets this far and does not have the will power to NOT eat several of these (talking about someone who has not posted to this list). Maybe lack of knowledge is better in this case. Lol. Reading this list could be downright dangerous!

I have to admit.. After reading these sliders I feel sick to my stomach. Even what posted sounds gross. Sooooo glad the sleeve and my mind has made me come to terms with the desire to eat.

It is funny, I was felling the same way ad then read your post. I dont think about it if I do indulge in any of these (although I try not to) but sitting here reading all of them, it makes me sick to my stomach to think abou it.

That being said, the one thing I can eat endlessly are goldfish crackers. Fortunately, they are not TERRIBLE for you and a serving is like 60 goldfish for about 150 calories. I have never been a big chip eater and I HATE doritos and cheetos anyway, so those are not an issue. I do love ice cream but forutnately my body doesn't respond well to high doses of dairy, except for string cheese, so it limits my intake on milk based products for me.

If it is a skinny mocha and you drink in moderation (say, once a week), I think you should get a pass. I suppose if you drank more then one a day, it would be a slider. Yay for the weekly grande!

Heh.. Pre-sleeve I was an ice creamaholic and a serious Cereal killer.. I can't eat those anymore. I AM SOOOOO HAPPY :D

chocolate covered strawberries for me. I dont even know how many I can take down because I havent pushed it that far but after 3, I dont feel full. It cant be all that bad right? Its half fruit :)

And popcorn. I bring my own teeny tiny bag with me to the movies (has only happened once), put a little butter on it and when Im done, Im done.

I know Im weak, thats how I ended up where I ended up so I have to be realistic with treats. I always have to set a limit.

Oh and dont get me started on Cadbury Cream eggs. They are a little evil.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
