Hi Yvonne, I'm glad you've got your date at last.

I had one of the wildest nights in my life in Glasgow many years ago. You guys really know how to party.

You might want to hook up with the November bandster thread as well, you can share experiences with people banded around the same time.

Good luck with your surgery!

Welcome Yvonne!

Wishing you all the best on your big day on tuesday. This site is somewhere you can go and get incredible support and lots of great advice, even laughs.

I was just in your country this June, having dreamed of it all of my life, the three weeks I spent wasn't nearly enough. I'm seriously considering moving there in a few years (see my thread "divorce), any good, hot, available men there?

Please let us know how your surgery and recovery goes, we will be here to help you on this journey.

Be well!

Hi Yvonne - Welcome to LBT. Will be sending some good thoughts your way for Monday. Everything will turn out fine and you'll be loving the band in no time (well, it'll probably actually be after the liquids and mushies phases that you begin to love the band lol).

Hello lovely people,

Thanks for the welcome - that's really nice.

I think I may have a cold coming on so I'm dreading the next couple of days - I can't have the op with the cold ;-( just my luck - keep yer fingers crossed.

I never found a good Scottish man - despite years of trying but I found a good English one. I've had many a wild night in Glasgow - many moons ago. I'm hitting 40 and have a 5 year old so my wild days are over. The meds I'm taking don't agree with alcohol - mores the pity!

I also have PCOS and BIPOLAR and would also love to chat to anyone going through the same - life's a bitch then you marry one!

Thank you all for your kind words , I hope to be here next week having fully joined the club.

Take care you lovely lot,

Yvonne

Hi again,

It's official - I'm a fully fledged member of the club :clap2:

Was banded on Tue 28th Nov at Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland.

Trying to figure out which pains are from the band and which are from the op. I'm on a liquid diet for a min of a month - first fill is in 3 months time. The scales are going in the right direction - just hope to get the kind of result I've seen with some people on here.

I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself cos I'm still thinking of food most of the day - how do you get past that stage? what do you focus on? feel a bit lost in that department.

On a liquid Soup and milk pudding kinda diet - 800 cals per day - they said I should keep on that till my fill, been 3 days and it's daunting - wonder how I'm gonna manage 3 months. What were you advised to eat after the op and how long for?

Looking forward to the time I can eat what I want in moderation.

Please advise all - need some help here.

Love

Yvonne

Hi Yvonne

Congrats I was banded on Tuesdy 28th as well

I was advised soft diet for 2 weeks

But that was to include Soups yogurts cornflakes with milk Cereal rice Noodles scrambled egg Mashed potatoe soft veg minced meat stews ect eat small amounts stop when feeling full not stuffed mouth chew everything slow and take time before swallowing no drinks 30 mins before meals and 1-2 hr after. Hope that helps 3 months on liquid diet sounds extreme and 800 cals a day very low don't know if i could sustain that . Did you havGood luck to you I wish you every sucess keep in touch Im living in ireland not too far away.

Hi Loriha,

Sending good luck to you too, over the Water to Ireland.

Has your band been filled or left unfilled? when is your first fill? are you feeling hungry? so many questions!

Hopefully we can compare notes what with being banded on the same day

Take care,

Yvonne

Yvonne, congratulations on your banding, and you too, Loriha.

Yvonne, are you on one month of liquids or three? Yikes, that does seem like a long time. In any event, hang in there, you'll be rewarded with a good loss.

Hi people,

I've been told to go at least one month on liquids and 3 months if I can manage it! I've got to wait 3 months till my first fill too - jeez - it's not even a week and already I'm thinking I should be filled asap. I'm not hungry all the time but can eat a tin of Soup and drink normally - to me that seems too much. How much are you guys managing to eat and is it scary when you're filled - are you scared to eat incase you overdo it and puke? I'm terrified of that happening.

Take care peeps,

Yvonne

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
