All I wanna do is EAT

Recommended Posts

I feel a binge coming. I'm only 15 days away from surgery. I've been on full liquids for several weeks (due to my plane being canceled last minute when I was supposed to have surgery in Tijuana on Feb. 15) and soooooo want something to eat!

Last night I ate 3 sausage patties. I don't even like sausage!

I can see how you would want to do that since it was pushed back! And you have fifteen days left? Perfect! now you can just start again like a two week diet! :)

This will be worse after surgery so now if the time to get your head wrapped around your food issues and find a way to vanquish them. Find an over eaters anon group or something...call a doc, do something but remember, it does not really get easier from here. They only do surgery on your body, not your brain.

I actually disagree. For me, the pre op diet was far worse than post op. its frustrating to not be able to eat when you are hungry. Like its unnatural. Thats not a food addiction, thats life. We need food to live.

Yes i had frustrating times post op, but it was totally different than pre op. not being able to eat post op, my stomach was healing and i wouldn't dare hurt it. But pre op diet felt like cruel punishment lol (even though i know there was a reason for it.)

Hang in there. You are on the road to a new you.

It was harder for me pre-op, too! Because then it was just me and my will power. While now, I have the sleeve to help me. However, Iggy is right. It will be so much easier in the long run if you can start dealing with the behavior changes now!

I feel so bad for you! I can't believe they kept you on full liquids for that length of time. That's kind of mean I think. You might call your doctor and see what they say about you having one meal so you can get it out of your system and then back on full liquids since you still have 15 days before your surgery...

I don't want you to blow it, but I will say this...my preop diet was stay below 40 carbs a day. Easy stuff. If you are going to "blow it" than consider doing that with a HEALTHY low carb meal. A gorgeous steak and a salad or something verses eating high carbs or high fats. Its really important that your liver be in good shape for the surgery. I had complications (not liver) and when you have them with this surgery they get bad very fast, like dead bad, so if you break do it wisely with healthy food, not krispy creams or something.

My comment about your future challenges is because you used the word binge. THat's not the same as missing a meal and wanting to chew. It's a difficult psychological problem that needs to be addressed because even after surgery you can binge...maybe not with such large amounts, but you can blow it and endanger your life. You really want to get your head around that food issue ASAP to be successful long term.

I guess I didn't really mean binge. I'm just really over the sweetness of the shakes everyday. That's more of what it is. But I'm trying to stay away from Soups because of sodium levels, even the lower sodium ones are high. I had a very long day and did go thru McD's drive-thru. I ended up getting 2plain grilled chicken sandwiches but just ate the fillets and ditched the Buns. I just have a few more pounds to drop to get my BMI under 50 so I can save the extra $1,000.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
