Hey Lynn, I was just thinking about you the other day, I was wondering how you have been and I was going to PM you.

Yes, I agree, too tight would not be the way to go. I just got my first fill yesterday and so far feeling great. I felt some restriction, but today when I was drinking, I didn't feel it. I'm on liquids for 3 days and then mushies, then regular foods. So I really won't know if the fill is the right amount until I start on solids.

Also, I've read where some don't really feel the restriction until after the 2nd week, so I'm going to give this fill 4 weeks and see how it goes. My next doctor appointment is April 5th and we'll see how it is by then.

Thanks for sharring your story, its a great lesson for those of us (like me) that want to feel major restriction immediately.

Thanks Tonya ~ Yes, I wanted to lose 45 pounds overnight, but after being way too tight, I realized that is NOT the way to do it! You all learn from my mistake, it was NO fun!

Lynn :o

I have been eating some things I shouldnt like chocolate, but I think I am premenstual. I did lose 3 more pounds after not losing for over 2 weeks. So, I want to start exercising to facilitate the weight loss.

I got a fill 1 week ago. I think I feel a little restriction the last couple of days as long as it is a solid Protein. If it is a mushy I can have more so I need to make sure I am having more solid Proteins.< /p>

I am going to give it another week to kick in and them I am going to ask for another fill. He told me to wait 8 weeks, but see what happens.

Today I had coffee with soymilk for Breakfast and feel unconfortably bloated. I am not sure why. I am going to get in my Water and see if I feel better so I can eat lunch. I had shrimp yesterday with potato for lunch and felt bloated like I do today and couldn't eat dinner. I am not sure if that is more restriction or what.

I have heard more restriction kicks in in about a week or two. But it just feels like a stomach ache. :o

I've been stuck since before my fill on Feb 6th. I had been walking at the gym on the treadmill and that wasn't kicking my metabolism up enough to lose weight. Keep calories at around 1200 but since the fill I had a week with restriction and sliming and PB but I never felt full. I was just eating too fast or not chewing. Got another fill scheduled for March 28th. Now at the gym twice a day for a total of 90 minutes/day and the scale just dropped a pound. It appears I'm losing inches and clothes fit loose now. I'm hoping for restriction with fullness with the next fill. Six weeks and not much to show for it.(at least on the scale)

peacej ~WOW! 4 cc's...My Md said he would only do 1 cc fornow and then I have 4 more fills. I will be going every 2 weeks unless I feel too much restrcition and then we'll wait. I can say this...my gas pain is back!!! :faint: YUCK!!! I am restricted...I've only had liquids and feel super full. :girl_hug:

Gigi ~ HI! Thanks..yeah, I was having a rough time with gas and air and now the gas is back....but I'm surviving and looking forward to the summer and my new improved me!!!!! :clap2: How are you? how have you been feeling? I haven't been posting/reading as often due to being VERY busy...but I hope everything is going good!!!

smooches!!!!:kiss2:

Hi Bandida! Sorry to hear that you're having a tough time with the gas. I hope it gets better. I am doing pretty well. I am on mushies and that is going well. I have lost 30lbs, which I am so glad about, but I feel it should be more considering that I am only eating 400-500 calories/day and am exercising 60"/day 5x/week. I am not hungry yet. I eat because I have to not really because I want to. I'm sorry, I guess that I am a little menstrual right now. Hope you're better-Keep in touch-Gigi:)

I was bad and had a diet coke today with my lunch..ug!! and the worst thing was, it tasted good and I didnt have any problems...I feel like I fell off the wagon..my first fill is next friday, that is if the doc feels I need it..the past couple days I have had some "slime" and "PB" experiences because I was eating way too fast..anyway, those are my challenges at this time...I am losing weight though!

I got my first fill today!!!!!!!!!! 1.5 cc in a 4 cc band.

It was a weird feeling them getting to the port. It was done undo fluro and the a barium swallow. I will know in 3 days when I can eat solids if there will be any difference. The Doc said that most do not have any until the 2nd fill.

Will keep my fingers crossed. I had to do a 10 round trip to Dallas today and I am tired.

Just checkin in!

I have been doing pretty good. No pbing or sliming. I have been having coffee for breakfast and it keeps me full till lunchtime. Today for lunch I had a chicken sausage with spaghetti sauce and mushrooms over some cottage cheese. It was pretty tasty. I had a snack of about 20 almonds and 2 Laughing Cow cheese. Dinnertime I had 2 more Laughing Cow. I felt tight due to stress today. I am also premenstrual and have heard some get tight at that time. I had my 64 ounces Water, 1 QuickSlim30, 1 Biotin and my liquid vitamins.< /p>

No exercise today. I just can't seem to start up again!!!

I have been really busy lately. My stepdaughter is getting married next weekend.

Take care!!!

Hey guys, just checking in I started eating solids again, now just waiting for my fill. I try to eat three meals a day, and I'm getting creative. Last night I had 2 oz of shrimp and 1/8c of succotash. Weird combonation but it was good.

Oh yeah, I had my interview for the volunteer/internship program situation and they said I was the "perfect candidate", so I start training tonight from 6-9 pm. I'm SO excited! Now I just have to look at schools so I can start my second B.S. in Marine Sciences. Oh and find a way to pay for it. Ha ha.

Have a great day everyone!!!

I got my 2nd fill this morning. I've lost 25.5 pounds in 7 weeks. Yay! Half of my last fill had been absorbed, so the nurse removed the other half and decided to use omnipaque instead. She put in 2 ccs of the omnipaque. Let's hope I feel some restriction with this. I'll let you all know in a couple of days.

I'm finally feeling better about all this. The extreme hunger and bad cravings have finally subsided, so it seems to be getting easier for me. Glad to see everyone is doing OK, too.

For those of you who are self-pay Spivak patients, you do have to go to his office for your 2nd fill. They only do the 1st one at the SurgiCenter. Dr. Spivak is in the process of getting a fluoroscope at his office, so hopefully in a couple of weeks, he'll be able to do all fills under fluoro. This time Brenda did it without fluoro, and I felt comfortable with that since I wasn't having any problems that needed to be addressed.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
