Ok pretty much the same requirements I have but my surgeon didn't recommend a cardiologist...I'm a lil concerned about that though. I don't have any heart issues or anything, or I should say none that I know of! Did you lose any weight on the supervised diet? Did they recommend that you drop anything Tricia?

They took my weights from previous doctor appointments I had with my primary doctor and from my weigh ins when I had fills with the lap band. Thats odd that they didnt recommend the cardiologist because I dont have any issues either, but I still had to have clearance from them when I had the lap band and now for the revision surgery. You posted previously that your doctor is Dr. Brathwaite in Winthrop, I see his partner Dr. Barkan also in Winthrop. Maybe the requirements for your insurance is different than mine.

Did you have the lapband done at Winthrop too? I have HIP so maybe that's the difference idk but I'm going to ask when I see him next week about it.

I had The sleeve exactly 2 weeks ago. I'm still always hungry I'm very miserable and cranky. I had the surgery to curb my appetite and obviously to eat less I'm not sure it's going to do either. Does anyone out there feel the same way. But had a good outcome in the long run? Positive thoughts are always the way to go but I can't seem to muscle up any.

It has been good. I had a hard time in the begining but that is expected. i had no pain or anything like that( some gas but not too bad) . I just was panicky about getting in the Water and Protein . My mind was freaking out ,,I was making myself crazy.. I just had to realize I can only do what my body lets me.. So I just sipped as much as i could. It is definetly a journey and not the easy way out but its all worth it. The first couple of weeks are the hardest. One great thing is that with our dr. we can go to puree soft foods quick ,,, You will be just fine..i am a slow loser and wish it would just fall off but my skin has more time to shrink ,,,so thats a good thing. Wishing you much luck on your journey and like I said feel free to email me if u want.

I'm in Nassau county but I'm using Dr. McGinty at St Lukes Roosevelt Hosp. in Manhattan. Great reviews about him.

Do you remember which day of the week dr barkan did your sleeve? They scheduled me for august 8th only to find out that they had mistakingly scheduled me for the lap band. nd that he doesnt typically do sleeves on thrusdays because his sleeve assistant isnt in that day. So I figured iD ask you...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
