I have a trip planned 4 weeks following my proposed surgery date. I'm nervous about traveling following surgery, especially being thirty thousand feet in the air. Have you experienced any problems flying?

A lot of people have surgery in Mexico or other states and fly home a couple days after surgery.

I've flown after having several surgeries in MX and have never had a problem. Once I had a tough time with the gas pain in shoulder and was uncomfortable because of that, but 100s do this every day. Check with your dr though, he will know for sure if you're suitable to fly

I flew at 5 weeks and the doctor said there are no restrictions for sleeves. I did wear compression socks just as a precaution for blood clots but the doctor chuckled when I told him I was going to do that.
