5K Sat morning. Picking up packets tomorrow. Color Run (I'll be walking fast). Will see if my husband suggests any more 5K's in the future. He is not happy about the color. Ha !Ha!

Sounds fun!!

If it makes you feel any better, I haven't done anything today, and I don't know that I will. 0_o

At Playmakers today, I had to look at sale running shoes. Said I can walk in running shoes but shouldn't run in walking shoes. Wanted some of the brightly colored ones, but I have orthodics and a lift so got a pair of Saucony...wit a few colors. Wearing them to make sure I can do the 5K in the morning. Will report in...not timed but will try and time myself.

I'm on week three day two of couch to 5k and I was wondering is it super hard when you get to week nine or is it not that bad because of the way it builds up? When I look at week 6 I think damn and then I see week nine and I think holysh!t.

I'm on week 7. I think the way the program gradually increases your running time is the key. Your body is getting used to the runs and if you don't let your negative nelly mind take over your body will fall into the run naturally. (All of this is IMHO) Even just 3 wks ago I wouldn't have believed I could tell you I ran for 25 min solid but I have!!!

Good luck and keep up the good work.

My wife is even talking about running?!?! And hiking?!?!?! She is not far post op out of surgery ( July 2 nd) and she is a professed nay sayer of both running and hiking. Has been since i have known her 13.5 years ago. It is not a negative, just a difference between us. Just this last week she was almost tempted to run when walking on the treadmill. I am impressed. However, most of all I am psyched about us doing runs or hikes together in the future. There is so much enjoyment that can come from both activities, especially when you have someone close to you to share the experiences with. I will have to get her started on the c25k program when the time is right.

Thanks Lisa that is very good to hear. Going from 90 seconds of running to 3 minutes of running sounded hard but wasn't that bad. The hardest thing for me to master has been the breathing and finding a rhythm. Have you already ran a 5k?

Color 5k was so much fun!! 1 hour and 4 min with 4 color stations. Ran the beginning and end even though I was not suppose to due to knee replacement! Walked over 5 miles from parking place to start, 5k and back to car from finish line.

I have done 3 5k's. Each time my time gets better. I know ill never be the fastest but ill never be the one who quits!

Your right about the breathing and rhythm. I have found when I let my mind wander and think on life it helps to just let the natural instincts of my body kick in and take over.

That's great that you have run in 3 races. I ran yesterday and instead of trying to breath a certain way I just tried to go farther and it worked. When do you plan on doing a 10k?

How do I reply with the message I'm replying to on my message? I'm on an android and I can't figure it out.

Do y'all always love love love running? I startedout that way but now I'm "meh" about it. Or I have been the last two runs. After I always feel great but I have to psych myself up for it all day.

What's that about?

Tell me that you all go through phases with running just like anything else in life? Do I have to love running before every single run, to be a happy runner? This is something I've dreamed of for a long time.

Maybe I'm just listening to my inner lazy fat girl lately.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
