Hey folks. Been MIA' date=' but have missed this thread.

So yeah, burnout...it's real. Whether you call it burnout, or just needing a break, enthusiasm ebbs and flows. Plus, your body does as well....and it's tough to run when your body is not feeling well...tired and fatigued. Then, add to that, some runs are just better than others. Sometimes it's so effortless, other times it's like you're pulling a wagon. Those bad runs can really make you second guess your decision to run. Put 2 or 3 of them together....yeah it gets real hard to run. That's when it's important to look back on your overall progress....it helps you realize you're better than just your last run.

And as for stretching before a run, studies show that it has no benefit and even a negative benefit on performance. Stretching a cold muscle is a terrible thing. Still, I say we are all different and most of us are not running in the Olympics....so do what feels best for you. If that means a little light stretching just to loosen up the joints, then do it. Just don't go crazy and end up hurting yourself.

I definitely prefer foam rolling to stretching. It's like getting a warm up massage.[/quote']

Not meaning to counter you because I think you just missed a key point or maybe I did. Stretching should be done after a warm up jog not on cold muscles. Just wanted to clarify that. It makes a big difference for me. Roller is great before and after, but most definitely after when your body is super warmed up from the workout. I love my TP roller and recommend it to anyone who is looking into a roller. I also do structured core workouts with it 2 x a week that really leave me with good results. I also get a massage during the core workout from the roller by design. How cool is that?

Laura' date=' I'm proud of you for not giving up!! That's something!

I think I've found the culprit. I got really bored with my foods and bought some smart ones meals and a smart ones dessert and maybe a real dessert. 0_o

I have felt depressed, unmotivated and like my endurance is lacking since I've started eating those things. Gonna have to stop processed foods. I know that anyway. I'm ashamed that they have made their way into my diet again anyway.i feel like I'm derailing a bit because I'm seriously over meat and cheese. :/

Gonna spin off on that topic.[/quote']

Be careful with those smart one meals. Even though they are yummy ( used to really love the Thai noodle myself), they are infested with salt. However, if it keeps you motivated, then it is not the worst choice. Oh and do not get me started on the smart one chocolate chip cookie dough sundae. Mmm. I lost serious weight in the past eating those two things 7 days a week for dinner. Oops, I am not supposed to promote that type of eating... :)

Rofl fiddle! I chose the Peanut Butter cup sundae this time. And yes, two at a time. Those servings are tiny even for sleevie! I had two after my wog last night instead of the yogurt I'd planned (you know, healthy after exercise Protein and carb) sigh. God isn't finished with me yet. ;)

I know, so much sodium! I do have healthy meals too, to *kindof* counter balance all the unnatural in the meals. I also got jimmy dean light Breakfast sandwich things for days I'm feeling blah about plain ole eggs. They're pretty yummy but I feel guilty eating them.

Sorta. 0.0

Retread what you wrote. I see that you had a meal and a dessert for dinner, not two Desserts for dinner. Lol

Yeah, holy crap squared. :) I cannot pronounce 1/2 of those ingredients. The old saying is that if you cannot pronounce something in the ingredient list you should not be eating it. In my opinion only...just kidding. I can pronounce most of that stuff.

Laura' date=' you motivate me!![/quote']

That works both ways :)

Ok did it!! It was a tad bit easier today still has sweet dripping everywhere but I felt my stride a bit more.

I also had music blaring in my ears.. My beloved radiohead and somehow some of my daughters death metal ended up on my playlist....

It was kinda nice running while listening to someone who sounded like the devil screaming in my ear! :o:P

Whoa! Weird experience.. I got up and almost blacked out and stumbled into a wall?

Sometime I get dizzy if I stand up (after surgery)

But this was a whole New level!

You need to eat more. If you are running on a 5:2 fasting day, watch out. :) also check that you are drinking enough Water and that you are sucking down electrolytes in the form of Gatorade, coconut juice or something else. Are you eating a recovery shake after the run?

No fasting today... But I haven't had much yet and I don't think I hydrated very well so I'm working in that now.

Scary stuff!

No shake but I think I will now!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
