I am starting week two of C25K today. Week one went better than expected. My daughters, who are 10 and 8, decided they are going to donut with me. Of course, week one was ridiculously easy for them. To be young and in shape again! I can't wait to run a 5k with them later this summer though!

Did my 5K this morning! My time was better than my first one 2 years ago but slower than my 2nd one. I'm happy though considering I was in the hospital a month ago! I'll be resting again for a few weeks. I get my gallbladder this next Tuesday. Yippee. I figure its god for at least a half pound loss. Lol

Asics, Brooks, and New Balance make excellent running sneakers. I recommend going to a running shop to get fitted however. I have a pair of New Balance runners, they fit me perfectly, but I don't recommend them for long runs because they feel heavy. If you like a lightweight sneaker with good arch support, I highly recommend Nike Free Run.

I guess I wasn't clear enough. I was sleeved 5 mos ago. I was in the hospital a month ago with pancreatitis.

Gallbladder is out & a surprise hernia is fixed. Now on to healing again. I'm hoping to do another 5K in June.

I think I'm mad at you, Bean... I'm cranky about having to run on the treadmill! ;) after a crazy weekend and stressful start to the work week, I'm finally back to my run. Feels great even if I did have to do it inside!

As for shoes, I have some weird bone structure. I have a really high knotty bone on the top of my foot/feet and huge "pump bumps" on my heels even though I've never been a high heel wearer. I love asics, like new balance and Adidas and can't wear Nike or reebok as a general rule. I also try to avoid shoes with a higher back on the heel because it'll usually make me blister. Good socks help with that though. Next time I buy shoes I may go to a running store to be fit. I've had good luck so far but am interested to see what the experts would suggest.

I started today! One of my friends did it with me. I did it! Lol....long way to go. My shins and ankles always hurt when I try to run, I need to do some better stretches. I bought new balance running shoes, they were pretty comfy! I was surprised that I finished the exercises today without stopping. Hopefully I can get out of bed tomorrow.

Bought my first pair of running shoes this weekend (New Balance- I have wide Fred Flintstone feet). Did day one, week one of C2K today. Didn't quite finish so will be repeating it tomorrow or Friday. I can't believe I am running by choice, no one is chasing me with an axe like in a horror movie. :D

Week 5 D2 done and in the books. Wasn't bad and was a good workout. The PF is much better, going to see what othotics are out there to add some cushion to the heel. Get through week 6 going to start looking at the schedule for a 5k. My beautiful daughter ran one last weekend with a time of 19:11. I know I can't catch her as my PR was around 30 minutes. I'm shooting for somewhere around 40 since that was 7 or 8 years ago. Also gotta start running on real pavement as soon as the PF clears up a bit more. Maybe I can get over to the high school and run on the track, not has hard as pavement.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
