WHAT HAPPENED????

They don't know :D

I broke my ankle years ago, and they patched it with a plate and screws. It aches occasionally in the way that old broken bones will, so I didn't think much of it until I tried to stand up this morning and failed. Xrays showed nothing wrong physically and I didn't injure it in any way that I know of, so they stabilized the ankle with an air cast and gave me some crutches and told me to stay off it until it stops hurting.

I did the C25K last year. Started it in mid september. After that first night I didn't go back for 2 weeks. But finally, I grudgingly went back...I couldn't jog 30 seconds. But after 5 or 6 nights I started to see an improvement and I started liking it. Every week I would look ahead at the next week and think there is no way I can do that. But then I'd surprise myself. I have never ran before in my life. But now I'm totally addicted and all I can do is anticipate the next run. I've got a 10K coming up weekend after next and a half marathon in April. I'm pumped and really think it's the best thing I've done since getting sleeved.

We've got a thread called "for distance runners" that a few of us sleeved runners hang out on. Come on over there and read up....there are some pretty advanced sleeved runners lurking around here.

But seriously, as to the C25K...keep at it. Listen to your body and that inner voice in your head. If it tells you you're not ready to move ahead, you don't have too. Feel free to repeat any nights you need to. By the time you get to the end you will be loving it....or your money back.

Hey mr. dom man :) ive been doing this for a few months now. I really enjoy it. if doing it on the treadmill or outside starts to hurt your feet or knees to much you can hop on the elliptical there a speed and time tracker on there and its gentle on the joints. Have FUN!!

Nice. You must be nailing it now!

Mate, I'll jump over and have a look. I'm really enjoying it, but it is only night 2!!

Not too bad so far. One of my daughters came with me tonight. We really enjoyed it.

Do you worry about being "hooked" on running and any potential muscle lose?

Hey Wendy - It's great!!

I'm using an app called 'couch-to-5k'

It seems like a great app. Tracks your distance and pace. Maps where you've gone. Progresses you every week. And it's easy to use.

Not at all. You think bodybuilders don't run? The reason worldclass runners are so skinny is it makes it easier to run. But if you ever go to a local run, it's kind of amazing the wide array of sizes of people.

Thanks Dean, I'll give it a go, can walk 10 km now but have never been good at running though I'd love to be. Keep me up to date with your progress and I will do likewise. Wendy.

If you can walk 10k you will go through the first few weeks quite easy.

Will keep you update. Only day two of week one today. One of my girls, 8 years, came out with me today. I really enjoyed it.

I live in a really hilly area so I might be a bit slow. My partner is good at running so I might get him to do it with me, he can drag me up the hills then I can run down!

Aren't you near a beach? You could do it on firm sand?

Have downloaded the app but realised that my joggers NO LONGER FIT lol. They're at least two sizes to big now. So I am going to buy new one's on the weekend and I plan to start on Sunday. We will see how I go - I still get quite shakey even just walking but I can't keep doing nothing! Will let you know how it goes!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
