FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved

Recommended Posts

I think Im the worst post op patient ever. Tomorrow I will be 3 weeks out. I still walk around like an old lady because I have an incision with a nasty bruise on it and it HURTS. Getting up from bed is a pain and all through the night I go from my bed to the recliner because sleeping on my back is killing me. I do not leave the house unless its to see the doctor. Last week I ran into a girl at my doctors office. She was one week out and walking around in heels. Made me feel so bad. Just needed to vent guys!

I'm sorry, and that girl is an over achiever ... Walking in heels

Are any of you guys on this horrible lovenox shots? I have to have them twice daily for seven days to prevent blood clots..... They hurt soooo much :( Not the needle but the medicine.... Ugh!

I hear you. I'm on fondaparinex (same but not heparin) once a day for six weeks. Sick of all of it.

surgery was 2-11. I feel fine. no real issues other then not being able to eat any kind of Protein Powder or mixed drink. incisions are fine. Water hurts but lemon water doesn't. SUPER FRUSTRATED. lost 14 the 1st week and nothing for 2weeks now. no more lost inches either. seriously the 14 I could have done without surgery. I understand stalls in a way but 1st month is bull. you eat so little and get nothing. seriously aggravated.

I am 4 days out postop. I'm having a very hard time getting my liquids in. I spoke with my nurse today and she said to go with the Water over Protein so I don't get dehydrated. I did walk for about an hour and 20 minutes in Walmart today and hoping to continue walking each day. I'm having a hard time moving as the larger incision is still painful. I am just now releasing gas and have not had a bowel movement. There were no complications with my surgery so any suggestions regarding the belly pain would be greatly appreciated. I am also a belly sleeper so finding it very hard to sleep. I am able to tolerate about a half a Jello at a time' date=' of all popsicle and tomorrow I will be adding some Soups. Good luck to all those who are sleep this month[/quote']

Try a heating pad maybe. Also I can sleep on my left side if I prop a pillow up under my left side.

I was sleeved on the 26th' date=' have been on liquids only. Tomorrow I start to introduce yogurt, cottage cheese, low fat cheese, sf apple sauce and ricotta cheese (soooo looking forward to some ricotta bake!!!) but I can't have eggs of any sort or refried Beans for another week (start on the 14th). Maybe going with smoother soft foods like yogurt, sf puddings, sf apple sauce would be easier to get down for now... ????[/quote']

Apple sauce hurts too. Idk what is wrong with me, lol. I can't tell if the pain is from gas or if I'm eating too much or too soon. I'm calling my NUT tomorrow.

Awh you should still try it. Everyone is different. I think it just shocked my stomach because I've only been eating Soup. I feel better now just my stomach is bubbly!

I'm about with you and I'm only 6 days post op-- maybe try to up the protein. I know it's tough!!! I hate all the sweet artificial flavored crap!!! My God send has been the unflavored Sytrax Nextar. I now do 2 coups per 1 cup of liquids which gives me 20g a protein. If you haven't tried it, I will send you some;)--- really! At least so you can try before u buy. Call your surgeon or NUT -- they need to help you through this;)

Surgery on Thursday and I'm still in a lot of pain. Trying to get down as much liquid as possible but it feels impossible. Have some rashes around my incision sites and I feel like I'm constantly still taking pain med. I hate taking them but it seems like the only thing to curb the big incision pain

My doc told me to put cortisone on itchy rashes from incisions...helped a lot!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
