Itchy skin? Am I weird?

I'm on my fourth day of pre-op diet and since day 2 I have been super itchy in my torso and legs. No rash, no bites, just itchy. No dry skin so it can't be that. Other than hunger, not the starving, ravenous kind, I'm feeling pretty good. I haven't cheated on my diet. I drink a ton of water, have 2 protein drinks a day, a small light dinner consisting of a protein and vegetables, and take a multi vitamin. On the bright side I already lost some weight.

The Protein shake maybe? Is it whey protein? I had some issues with it after surgery, when I started to use it, but I thought it was the anesthesia. Now that you say this maybe it was the shake because when I stoped drinking it I stopped itching,

Did you ever have your thyroid checked? This is one of the symptoms I have when mine is too low.

Thyroid was fine at last blood work. Researched it online. Apparently it's a sign of weight loss. I've cut way down on my food including fat so my body is reacting which means in losing weight. Yay me!!
