Today is 7 months since I had my VSG! I weigh 201 (dang it - wanted ONEderland!!) and am wearing 12/14 bottoms and large tops. I feel great and think I look pretty good! I eat well, but still haven't started my exercise routine....I will, I will! My skin has tightened up nicely and my hair has quit falling out and there is lots of new regrowth. I was never BALD - but it DID thin!

Never been in pain, never thrwon up, never felt bad. All my blood work is great and I can't wait to see where I am at 1 year! My doc thinks 170......wow...I was like 15 last time I weighed that! I am smaller than when I graduated high school!

Anywone still on the fence, send me a message! More than happy to share my experience! ssmonte72@yahoo.com

Best thing I have ever done for myself!

Pre-diet weight 307

Day of surgery 292

Today 201

YEEHAWW!!!!!

Thanks for posting, you look amazing.

I came on the thread today to read things like your post. It almost screams at me. I am having surgery Monday and am second guessing myself. Starting weight was 315, currently 297 and hope to be 294 on Monday. It's awesome to see your stats and know its possible. Thank you for sharing.

Me too! I'm on the liquid diet and my head hunger just won't shut up!

To the OP-How long were your phases back to solid foods? You're around my same weight that I'm starting at and I'm just so high strung waiting for my surgery on Tuesday.

I feel like the sensible me is has the wheel of the car but the crazy one that can't stop eating is in the passenger seat and pointing out all the wonderful food I'm driving past. It's driving me nuts.

My doc had me on two weeks liquids, two weeks soft foods(can cut with a fork) then whatever I tolerated! Protein first, then veggies. 3 oz of protein at a meal is a lot! I used a food scale the first month so now I can eyeball 3 oz pretty good. Sea food has been my friend as crab, fish and shrimp sit the mist comfortable in my tummy. I can eat whatever I want.... And queso and chips go down wAy too easy! Have to watch that! Going out to eat with hubby, I usually just add a side of shrimp to his order and pick off his plate- or order a protein app- I peel most breading off and have never felt deprived. Truly life changing! I still live food, and cook like a fiend! Making chicken, bacon, cheese meatballs for the game today!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
