Hi all. I just wanted to share my first major nsv. I actually went into Walmart with my husband and walked the entire store to get what we needed. Before I could barely make it half way through our shopping and I would go wait on the benches outside the store. I am excited to already notice a difference even before surgery.

that is amazing! Congrats! 57 pounds is awesome!

Hi all just my 2 am musings. I all of a sudden have this fear of failure after surgery. My mind says duh you should be able to keep on doing good look how good I have done preop but I just can't shake this feeling of what if I fail at this. I have dedicated myself to this journey but it sure does worry me. I go for my final preop appt on the tenth. So I guess it getting real.

jenngottaloseit,

This is a common fear, I felt this way and still do sometimes

But the fact remains that some people do fail.

My advise is to make sure you join and attend a support group.

The people that participate in these groups have a lower rate of failure

Best of luck so far this has worked wonders for me

Thanks dave. I have been going to support groups. I think it has a lot to do with the fact I have been waiting for this surgery for ten years. Every time I thought it was going to happen something came up or an obstacle was placed in front of me. And I would start doing bad again. Such as my eating. Now that its within reach I am having a hard time actually really believing its going to happen.

Jenn, put your blinders on and surge forward. You are going to do great! i believe in you! I truly believe this is your time! You have done so well already imagine how great it's going to be when your tool is in place. We all had doubts and fears, it's part of the process. Hang in there...you got this.....

Hi all, newbie here. I started off at 460... Eek! After a hideously long time (5 months) on Optifast, I am one week post sleeve, weighing in 110 lighter. Hopefully all the work I've done pre-op will make the next part of the journey easier? Please don't correct me if I'm being delusional...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
