Yea you would be sick. It sounds like your doctor didn't do the surgery correct.

Who is your doctor?

I just looked up some symptoms for a leak and I don't have them. I do have some tightness around the chest area that started yesterday but other then that I'm completely fine

Are you totally sure you had vertical sleeve surgery? I mean, I'm reading what you're saying and I'm thinking maybe they put you under and didn't do anything?

Yes that was what was suppose to be done. That's what Aetna paid for

Well I'm sorry that you feel that way. I didn't make this post to prove anything to you. I simply posted it because I wanted to know if anyone else went thru the same thing.

He did X-rays today's and That's how he came about the reason. I have already requested my surgery pictures today. I do know that I didn't have to drink the leak test stuff in the hospital because they said it was no need. I have a close friend that had the surgery in march of 2012' date=' she referenced me to her surgeon for a second opinion. Once I have all that I need to know I will glad upload pics and paper.

This is not something that I came up with. As I have stated in previous post. I have never felt ANY of the things that you all have felt. I was in weds and out Friday on the treadmill sat and back at work on Monday. With not a on e of Any pain Meds. I walk and or work out 5 days a week. I eat what I am suppose to. I live with someone who had the surgery 6 months before me so if I were eat wrong she would have let me know. Only thing that she has ever said to me was that she thinks that I drink to much Protein. I am very afraid of losing my hair. My doc td me as long as I get my Protein in I should be fine. So I drink protein all day long. Drinking wise I probably get 120 grams a day not including the food I eat.

This is already a stressful thing for me so please please don't tell me I am confused about something that my SURGEON has told me. Weather it be right or wrong I no what was said to me. So I am now taking it to the me t level to get the problem fixed. Once again I just wanted to know of any surgeons I. My area or has anyone ever went thru this before.[/quote']

I am sorry if I offended you I am not accusing you. That's not my intention what I am trying to imply is that maybe you misunderstood what your surgeon told you . That much protein will store as fat you should be getting 60-70 grams a day.

Gained 20lbs?@7wks, starving and eating right out of surgery? Did you compare notes, surgery scars, hospital experience with your roommate who had the surgery 6mos prior?? Did you have the bypass and not the sleeve perhaps??

I think the reason we all are puzzled here is because you and your doctor referred to the stretching of a pouch which typically happens to bypass patients

When are you getting the second opinion? Good luck to you!

Edit: seems like something was wrong from the beginning. I would request my records from the hospital. You should get any films that were made as well. You can then compare those studies to the studies you had at 7 weeks at what time your Dr. Said your stomach was sleeved. Now I would say your dr seems like an idiot but according to OTR idiots don't make it through med school. ( whatever)

All types make it through med school...look up some criminal cases against medical doctors.

Drs are not above being idiots IMO

Or are they above having intent on a procedure but I edited this as to not accuse but only suggest anything is possible IMO

Honestly, I think they put you under and didnt do anything. Do you have stomach scars? Pain when you sit up?

I'd say go for a second opinion and sue the sh*t out of these frauds. They have no right to play you like that. Playing with your emotions, making YOU feel like you failed when in reality it's THEIR fault

What I found odd is your drs medical group offers a "stomophyX" procedure that is new and it fixes failed WLS procedures. I don't know call me crazy but what if they are purposely not doing the surgeries correctly to later milk the insurance companies/patients for more money on this new procedure.

It's on their website. Supposedly it's offered only by a few groups... Them being one

Just a theory

Cause this seems too odd' date=' ya know?[/quote']

I don't know what that is. Wheni asked what else can be done. She said I can set up a special plan with the nut that will be a special case for me. But I will ask them tomorrow

No pain what's so ever. I actually started lifting weights for my arms. I promise you. It's extremely funny for the things I can do compared to the ppl that had the surgery the same time as me.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
